At what point do you think they should have jacked it in?
Several years before McCartney should have. 😉

Kriss Kross were a legit hiphop act and made 3/3 good albums. Word to ya mutha!
-
The Stones (whilst undeniably having an absolute arsenal of a back catalogue) should have hung their tools up several decades ago and their headline set was cringe inducing and technically downright awful ((ducks))

Can I ask where you got your wristbands done @gsansom? My wife and I had some done for all the guests at our wedding a few years back and they were great, but these look amazing

They are nice and looked the part. Have held on to them as a memory of the year that wasnt.

Said it before, saying it again. Greta to open the Pyramid on the Friday leading into The 1975 (revealed a la Libertines)
-
So theres a few name that have been thrown around before but have now gone cold. Of the big pop acts that could steal the day on the pyramid who would people like to see as a surprise lineup addition. I'm thinking along the lines of Missy, Timberlake, Pink, Gwen...
-
Personally I can see one of the big surprises being Greta opening the pyramid with a speech, curtain drops and the 1975 have the first big set of the weekend. Feels right and in keeping with the festival ethos and in light of the high profile issues this past year and both their public involvement

Gotta ask. If the whole Rage thing is legit, how many people plans for Saturday night have changed? Seen Macca once before and even if I hadn't I'm all in on Zack and the boys. See you in the pit!

Urgghh. Note to self: Have two coffees before posting on efest. Dont want this to escalate or people on here have the wrong idea of who I am or what I'm about. I love it on here. Final word on this. I see the world like this: I'm a person, you're a person, regardless of colour, gender, sexuality, class, if you're a good person, ie. you intend no harm to others, then its all love and if I see you in a field let's have a dance and a hug and raise a glass together. I like to think that's the attitude of the majority of people on here. Anyway I'm done. My 'iddle' aged white ass is off for that second cup of coffee and to put Lover on, see if I can be swayed.

I am not racist, sexist, etc, nor am I a boomer. I'm a 40 year old married man who loves humanity and embraces people of all backgrounds, ethnicity and sexuality. I was making a light hearted poke at this idea that we HAVE to have gender balance on lineups. We dont. Good music is good music just book whats good. Calm down snowflakes. My iddle aged privileged white ass will be getting down and dirty to Kenny, dancing with queens in Downlow and possibly even shaking it off to queen Tay Tay so dont be so quick to be offended. Just opinion. As you were.

Things you can say that means you haven't lost touch with reality: I dont like that artist. That music is not my taste. I'm never seeing that person live and would rather shove nails through my eyes.
Things you can say that means you should seek help: I dont understand how one of the largest artists in the world by any measurable metric is headlining Glastonbury.
This goes for Taylor and Kendrick. If you dont like them, you dont need to. Pretending most of the world doesnt love them is unhealthy. The world is round. Vaccinations are necessary. These are all facts proven by science and ticket sales.
Foals, on the other hand.
Fair point but I did t say I dont understand hows shes headlining Glastonbury. I recognise shes a global star I just really dont get the sudden rush of fandom which I hadn't seem here previously. Its all good though. I do think shes got some great songs. I just dont think of her as 'a great' despite her sucess. I'm happy for everyone on here that's stoked to see her though. I may even be there myself. Hoping for a better option on t'other, WH, JP, Park etc

The new world order says we must have exactly equal representation of Male and Females (not sure where the gender fluids etc fit in to that) so that being the case I would prefer Lady gaga over Taylor Swift. The system forces me to pit one woman against another. Room for everyone though. Except those who dont identify as a gender. Thought: how far away are we from expecting equal representation of blacks white latino asian...upper class, working class.. blondes..brunettes..gingers

Foals walk into a farm in Somerset and headline the main stage

Yes please and thank you

Genuinely do not understand the obsession with Taylor Swift. If she was any more vanilla she'd have a flake in her hair. Granted shes got a few decent tunes but dont get when we all suddenly put her on this plinth as the dream headliner, must see, etc. She strikes me as something of a culture vulture a la Ed Sheeran, "Today I'm urban, Today I care about the LGBT community" She doesn't even come across as particularly nice, always seems cold, calculating and fake nice. Anyway realise I'm leaving myself open to a wave of hate from the fanatics here but just speaking out loud as I am honestly bemused by the admiration for her on here. Not denying she has talent but give me Gaga or Pink any day of the week. They would beyond smash it. ((ducks))

You know who's female, hasn't played before, is current, has a huge back catalogue of bangers and sing along anthems and is absolutely big enough to smash out a pyramid headline slot (but could arguably occupy the afternoon pop slot, a la Janet, Katy etc)....Pink! She would rule it.

Throwing it in the mix here. Seems to me a possibility of a Beyonce / Jay Z headline. Would def be a spectacle for the 50th. Unique to have a true double headliner. Both have significant history with the festival. Decent amount of time since their last visits (around 7 or 8 new albums between them). Would go down well with the TV audience and no doubt pull a huge crowd in the field. I'd take this over Taylor and her vanilla pop and cultural appropiation ((lobs grenade and runs for cover))

Can someone retitle this thread. I've come here looking for fake posters and discussion thereof. It's like a sh!t episode of Kilroy in here.

"I'm sorry, I must have the wrong room"

1975 and Foals are both decent bands but seriously underwhelming headliners for the 50th anniversary of the greatest live music event on the planet. That's my tuppence worth.

To be fair I'm not informed enough to know, havent followed them live over the years. I just recognise them as a great band, that to my ears dont sound good any more. Voice and instruments. I truly thought their pyramid performance was cringy. Old wobbly head falls into that category too (and I saw him several years ago). It pains me to say it (as hes on my all time favourites) but Stevie Wonder is also sliding into that category. Everyone has a shelf life. The back catalogue stays evergreen though.
