  1. I agree. A worriying lack of support on here, Mr Wychwood will think no one gives a toss. Maybe they don't, but me & Tafhag do, and the boy Jez, who accompanied his old dad for the weekend, does as well. So that's three of us. Will that help sway any decision do you think?

  2. I agree about the sound, much too quiet considering the location, i.e. with the bar at the back. We saw two comics on Sat. who both went down like a lead balloon, it was painfull to watch and part of this I'm fairly sure was that unless you were forward of the mixing desk you had to strain to hear. Loud "shouty" comics could make themselves heard better, but the quieter types struggled. It could work in that location, either more volume, &/or repeater speakers halfway down the tent.

Agree with Aaron95, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, one of the many highlights for us, thanks to my son for picking him out of the progamme, otherwise I probably wouldn't have seem him.

  3. What a brilliant weekend, I got to see over 40 acts, some of them previously unknown to me. Highlights for me were The Beat, Supergrass, The Black Bloc, Alex Cornish, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, Shteti Superstars, Justin Adams & Juideh Camara, Bellowhead, Cara Dillon, The Long Notes, and what an end to the festival by Dhol Foundation. I just wish I hadn't got my bus pass and had the energy to dance more than I managed to, my head wanted to keep going, but the legs said no.

Also saw some good stuff in the Hooky Tent.

My only gripe concerns the PA's. (I seem to be the only one on here) The main stage was being overdriven on Friday and distorting, quite spoiled my enjoyment of the music, but it did improve at some point on Sat.

The Hooky Stage PA was ok for bands, in fact clearer than the Big Top PA, but the comics could only just be heard from the back, felt like it was set to No. 5 and it needed to go up to No 8 or 9.

The Big Top PA just sounded echoy all weekend, with the vocals having a distant quality, but the MC's mic always seemed fine!! Hadn't noticed this echoy quality in previous years.

As usual the louder bands on the main stage encroached on any quieter acts in the Big Top, (but this wasn't as noticable after Friday), not sure what can be done about that, my son suggested a bank of speakers between the two entrances to the Big Top to block out the main stage, would that work? I don't think it's just because I'm an old git, my son agreed about all the points re. the PA's. But gripe over, I had the best Wychwood so far, and the weather . . . what more could we have asked for?

Oh, and finally did The Silent Disco, what a riot, don't know why I hadn't been before.
