  2. I've been going since I was 32 and I'm now 44 and the only difference I'm finding now is my feet.

I now have very comfortable walking boots with added "suspension" as I find the improvement works to reduce the mud when wet can be very hard wearing on your feet. There is loads of walking and one evening a few years just collapsed in my tent and couldn't go out again as my feet hurt so badly. I got that one sorted pretty quickly!

Camping wise remember the music license for the festival means the main stages are over by midnight so the only noise is the combined hum of the party tents. We camp in family camping behind the Kidz Field and the gentle hum of noise from the other side of the site is easy to sleep through.

Finally in the last few years we have discovered the full blown night life and the party really starts after 12am!

You and your parents will love it. You never regret coming.

Relax, be happy and go with the flow and you be in love with Glasto in no time!

  3. 2011 we had a newborn (day old) in the NCT tent in the Kidz field. Lady came heavily pregnant, went into labour, gave birth in a local hospital and returned to site.

She was calm relaxed and happy as we're her partner and old children. The baby was gorgepus and content. It's all a state of mind.

All pregnant ladies come and stop by the NCT tent for a cuppa and a rest. It is quite a haven.

    Xx

  4. Inspired by the announcement of a site poet this is my contribution:

    I look at a website

    The buzz judders through me

I see the queues, the lanes, the tents

I feel the vibe, the excitement, the belonging, the calm

I cannot wait for the festival to start

I cannot wait to be immersed in the sense of direction

    To be amongst friends

Glastonbury festival, my home coming, my yearning

To come home, to belong, to be one with the world

    Xxx

  5. Nct babe - I wonder if you can help on another related question? Is the nct tent open on Wednesday? Will you have facilities for washing or sterilising bottles? Very excited and scared about bringing our 1 year old!

  6. Thank you to all that have mentioned the NCT tent in the Kidz Field!

We are back again this year with all that you need for babies and toddlers!

    Opening times:

    Thurs 12-7pm

    Fri-Sun 9am-7pm

    Bath time 5-6:30pm

This year there is also baby provision in family camping (the one above the Kidz field to the right of big Ground). This open from Wed lunchtime- Thursday lunchtime and when the NCT tent is closed eg 7pm-9am each night.

Adults without children ate not allowed on the Kidz field so a special place for families ;)

  7. Hi

The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) have a Baby Feed & Change Tent at the top of the Kidz Field and we have full sterilising facilities available (and washing up provision). The tent is geared up specificially for you and your baby and we even provide welcome cups of tea and a place to lie down. We are open the same time of the Kidz Field 9am-7pm with a nightly bath time between 5pm-6:30pm.

Also for the first time this year there will be out of hours provision in the Family Camping area behind the Kidz Field. They will be open when the NCT field is not. It will only cater to basic requirements but they will have provision to sterilise bottles.

Please note there is very little shade on site so please make sure you have plenty of protection for your little one - my worst festivals with the children have been the hot ones not the wet ones. Heat makes them fractious and miserable, so come prepared and life will be grand :)

See you in a couple of weeks

  8. Hi

We run the NCT Baby Feed and Change Tent in the Kidz Field and all disposable nappies go into the General Waste bins at the end of the day.

Please do NOT put into the toilets. There is no special facility for them either. Just bag them and put them in the General Waste bins.

We provide spare organic nappies and biodegradeable nappy sacks as our small part to the planet.

The Baby Feed & Change Tent at the top of the Kidz Field, provides emergency nappies and cups of tea and is geared up specificially for you and your baby. We are open the same time of the Kidz Field 9am-7pm with a nightly bath time between 5pm-6:30pm.

  9. Dear All

Just to let you know that the National Childbirth Trust have a Baby Feed & Change Tent at the top of the Kidz Field, we have emergency nappies and cups of tea. If any carrier becomes too heavy or buggies become too strenuous to push, come and take the weight off of your feet by relaxing in the tent that is geared up specificially for you and your baby. We are open the same time of the Kidz Field 9am-7pm with a nightly bath time between 5pm-6:30pm.

Also for the first time this year there will be out of hours provision in the Family Camping area behind the Kidz Field.

In my experience of taking three children for the last 8 years (now aged 10, 5 & 3), I have always preferred my sturdy three wheeler to any other carrying device. From babies to toddlers this has been by far the easiest even in the deepest thickest mud. It provides shelter from the wind and rain and shade from the sun.

Please note there is very little shade on site so please make sure you have plenty of protection for your little one - my worst festivals with the children have been the hot ones not the wet ones. Heat makes them fractious and miserable, so come prepared and life will be grand :)
