  1. IM NOT A DOCTOR BUT:

Eccinacia. Only discovered it a few months ago, you can get it from superdrug, tesco etc. It's excellent, the sooner you take it the better. Couple it up with some effervescant vitamin C tablets (or a load of oranges) and stay in bed for a couple of days if you can.

You'll be fine. If you get plenty of rest, eat plenty of fruit and veg and take some vit C, there's no reason why you can't kick a virus in time.

You can't beat lemsip either. It's got Paracetamol to ease yopur aches, Vit C to boost you immune system and a decongestant which will help you sleep.

    Good Luck!

  2. In the fine guide it says something along the lines of "gazebos take upother peoples camping space... please leave them at home"

Not sure how tough stewards might be with offenders, but there are a few threads about where people mention security threatening to confiscate them last year. Do a search, you should find it. was being discussed fairly recently.

  3. Hey congratulations and good luck! I had an email yesterday saying that I'd been selected for an interview for a job I'd applied for too. It said that assessments and interviews would be held on Monday the 29th and Tuesday the 30th. I got onto the HR dept pretty damn quick and requested a lete slot on the Tuesday. Yaaaaay!!

  4. BBC Look East (East Anglia BBC region), BBC1, tonight at 6.30. They are running a story on the gig. Script reads:

150 fans of Blur .. had the treat of a lifetime on Saturday .. in a former railway shed in Essex.

Back in 1988 .. the band played their first ever gig at the East Anglian Railway Museum.

They have now re-formed .. and decided the Museum would be the right place .. to warm-up for some big concerts this summer.

  5. Yep agreed, £150 is more than enough if you take booze with you. I'm aiming to take 24 cans of Carlsberg and a box of red wine. I have a small drawstring bag (a bit like a trainers bag) that I use to carry cans around with me. I pop back to the tent if I need stocking up.

  6. I bought some steel ones from my local camping shop at 20p each, Bargain!! I do promise to take them home too, poor cow's. Can't be very nice when a 2 tonne cow steps on one that's been left in the ground.

  7. Don't know, I don't think there's been any mention of them. I do remember people saying how bad they were last year (particularly bad if they got wet if I remember rightly and as we may be getting a monsson maybe not a great idea this year)

The cow's really appreciate them though.

  8. Just because they sold them on the gate last year doesn't mean that they deffinately will this year, (although I agree that it's highly likely).

Unless it says on the Glasto website that you will deffinately be able to buy them on the gate, I wouldn't be happy to travel all the way down there, just to face a load of hassle on the gate because I assumed that they would be selling them again this year.

It's too much of a big deal to risk it isn't it? I think so anyway. I'd want to be 100% prepared before leaving the house.

  9. Yep, I'm with Rufus with the long Johns idea... well kind of.

I wear snug, fairly long boxer shorts - works a treat! You don't wanna get that flesh on flesh action on a hot sunny day or it'll be chaffing galore.

Lose 5 stone is the best option ofcourse, but then I don't think I'll manage that before the festie unless I chop my arms and legs off... but I wouldn't have to worry about the chaffing then though would I.

  10. Hmmm, I think it's too late I'm afraid. Saying that I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to tell me I'm wrong. You checked out all the info on the Glasto website?

  11. Definately worth re-waterproofing it though, especially as there's a risk of a monsoon this year. I bought a tin of fabsil for £5.50 from my local camping store, (should have got the bigger tin for £8 cos I needed a bit more). It just sprays on like hairspray and dries very quickly. Piece of mind for £8. Can't beat it. It's worth paying the money to do it, cos theres nothing worse than waking up at 3am with a wet sleeping bag/clothes, I've been there and it's not very nice (no I didn't pee myself Hee he).

  12. Thats very lucky James.

Only thing is, if you park in the hospitality (gate 5) parking you may be told to walk to a different pedestrian gate (as you have a normal ticket), to get in. The chap on PG5 last year only had hospitality wristbands (as far as I could see). May end up being a bit of a trek for you, not sure.
