  4. Travel from Site into Glastonbury Town on the Tues

    Hi All.

    After being in West since 2010 we have obviously had to move to east Camper van fields this year. We are planning to get there very early on Tuesday morning to hopefully get a spot in a close field. (I understand Camper van fields usually 'officially' open at midday but in reality they let people in first thing)

    Once we have parked and pitched awnings etc, we are thinking of leaving for the day and heading into Glastonbury town. Does anyone know what the easiest way to get there and back would be? Is there a bus route nearby or somewhere appropriate that we could book a taxi from and too?

    Obviously i understand small groups joining together to make full groups and having the mutual benefit of increasing each others chances, but just because i have a full group does that mean i don't 'qualify' for help should someone have a spare page open? I'm not feeling confident after trying for friends on Thursday and not even getting a sniff  :-(

    Hi all. I have a full group of 6 and would love help on Sunday. The thought of not getting tickets is completely depressing me after missing out last year, It was the first year off since i started going in 2008 and was unbearable!!

    So how does it work? Should i put our reg numbers and my mob number on here for if some kind person get through?

    Obviously it goes without saying that if i should get through i will continue for others on here :-)

    I'm getting sliiightly worried about the weather forecast! I was hoping for a guaranteed sunshine festival and some forecasts are saying rain!!! :-( Was not expecting to have to pack a raincoat!

    What do people wear on their feet if it rains? I'm presuming (praying!) wellies are not needed due to the already dry ground, will pumps or ankle boots suffice?

    No you cant take your beer in but it's dead cheap inside- relatively speaking. 

    Yeah it is Rhianna..might just have to hold out and hope for the best. Are there usually touts outside in case it does sell out?

    A couple of questions :-)

    I am flying to Budapest on the Thursday of the festival and hoping to attend that day but not yet 100%. Are there usually day tickets available on the door?

    I presume you cant take your own beer into the festival?

    Music goes on all night on the smaller stages. A-38 which is the second stage finishes at 4 or 5 ish

    Kicking out for Day visitors is 6am I think

     

    Thank you! Just out of curiosity, how do they police kicking the day trippers out in the morning to make sure they don't stay for another day?

    Hi, looking to come to Sziget for the first time this year. Just a few queries..

    We're planning on staying off the island in a hotel. what area is best for us to book our hotel in to have easy access to the island? 

    Is access by bridge or boat?

    What are the queues like for day visitors entering in the morning? 

    Does the music go on all night? Is there a 'kicking out' time for day visitors?

    We usually get up at 6 and out of there by 6.30. Straight out no issues.........

    But for me and the other drivers of our group its a nightmare driving home with only a few hours sleep for the 6th night on the trot.

    Id like to be able to sleep off the night before and wake in my own time then head home. What time do you leave and how bad are the roads? We usually head through Glastonbury town on to the M5 and head north.

    Sill not got mine. Bought at 9.22. No money showing gone but they are showing on the order tracker. Hasn't stopped me from panicking as someone else used my card details to order them for me, I'm worrying that they have typed in card details incorrectly and the whole lots going to be canceled. I know this is a completely irrational fear i just neeeeeed to see the confirmation!!!

    It's great isn't it! There wasn't too many people in there either. Copying a cowboy dancing on the wall was one of the most bizarre but best things I've done!

    Yes the shadow dancing is brilliant, they had the whole tent dancing along to Lulu - Shout, every single person in there was copying. All the routines the skeletons do are fab too. Its hilarious! Cant wait to go again this time around! :-) :-) :-)

    The Back of Beyond (hopefully it's still there!). Worth the ticket price alone for me!

    Also showing my sister the beauty that is Glastonbury Festival after her going to Sundown (don't ask).

    This!!! That back of beyond tent is amazing! I found it 2 years ago and that year spent 2 whole nights in there. This year i made an effort to tear myself away after a couple of hours as so much more to see and do but i have never been in such a jolly happy tent! I love the place!
