  1. just wondered how anyone stood on tipi style tents like these:

    http://soulpad.co.uk/sanctuary/content/view/90

It might seem like a stupid question but as Ive always worked at glasto and camped in relatively spacious crew fields, are people likely to get thier backs up at the size of such a tent if look at how much space the guy ropes take up.

My friends said hell lend it me but dont wanna been seen to be taking up more space in a crowded pennards field for instance.

    wat dya reckon?

  2. Go up to the Park, and then go up the hill behind it to see the best views, over to the adjacent 'Flagtopia', and then over again to the Stone Circle.

From there, you can wander down into the Green Fields. But better than the going down the 'main drag', go round the right hand edge. This takes you through 'Undle Ground' which is the only crew camping area that isn't fenced. There's lots of funky old vehicles there, reminiscent of the travellers.

Also in that field, there's a line of stalls on the right hand side. Last year I found an amazing pizza place - all handmade, and cooked in their own naturally-fired oven. At the bottom on the right is Sam's Sauna, and great little cafe opposite with space to lounge around.

In that area, you can then go and see how Trash City, Arcadia and Shangri-La are shaping up. On Wednesday & Thursday they are still assembling things, and it's quite interesting seeing it all come together. Some of the workmanship is fantastic.

You can then cut back into the main drag of the Greenfields and poke around there, or go down into the Circus and Theatre area. They don't have much going in the early days, but Friday onwards it's fun and there's lots of 'random' stuff.

There's less to see over in the north, but if you like stalls, there's a monster line between Pyramid and Dance, and then you can nose around Dance Village before looping back round.

    So, there's a little mini tour. :P

  3. Right, So I've been to the last two glasto's but never as a punter.

Have always worked off site in the campervans field, so most of my memories of glasto are under the cover of darkness except the odd sunrise at the stones, of course.

Have got myself a ticket this year and just wondered where the best places to hang out during the day are.

Obvoisly there are bands on the main stages but what else would you recommend?

  4. would absolutely love to see em at glasto this year cud see it really workin.

as some one else has mentioned them being at big chill last year basically made the fest for me lovely chilled out vibe over in their field with some v interestin characters n goings on lol

  5. You'd be a retard if you brought them in. They're really f**king dangerous, especially in a crowded area. If I see you with one I'd even sacrifice a pint of Brothers to soak you, if not put the flare out...
  6. Rite then, flares!!! anyone taken them onto site before? Do security stop you bringing them in if they find them in your bags?

Never really considered them before but noticed quite a few set off last year (during the enemy most memorably, looked like a right laugh) and wouldn't mind taking a couple in this year for the crack

Just wondered if anyone knew where you can get them from and how safe are they to set off, don't you need a bucket of water to extinguish them in, or is that just wat the health and safety brigade would have you believe?

  7. Just having a look through the numurous videos on youtube of the stone circle in recent years n just wondered if anyone had any links to picture or videos of the stone circle in the 90's and late 80's.

Am a bit of a youngun (only been to the last two) n just curious as the whether the vibe/goings on up the stones has changed much over the years? Ive heard people say before that parts of the site could be slightly edgy at times before the superfence, more in keeping the vibe of a free festival or squat party, this true?

  8. hypnotiseme, you are a legend!

Brings back so many good memories, can see 'welcome to jamrock' or 'pimpa's paradise' in there but have been after the vid since the clouds parted that sunday afternoon, top stuff!

  9. songs that will for ever remind me of this years glasto

on call - kings of leon, thier best song for me and only reason I went to see em on the friday

massive attack - unfinished symphony, never thought I'd ever hear that song live

mgmt - time to pretend, never even saw this just heard that hook when I was working up on the campervans field and stuck in my head

the verve - love is noise, remember thinking why aint they finished with bittersweet only to be blown away by that last song, never forget it

here's my attempt at a flag, very scruffy round the edges but hey

gonna get to work on another tommorow to add to the growing number of flags attached to our 9 person tent

should be camped in staffing area just on at the top of the hill of death (pedestrain gate C) so keep your eyes peeled ;)
