  1. We used to like Wilderness, we've been 3 times but not this year as the camper tickets have become far too much (£200).

It's definitely worth trying, there's much more to it than just music (the music is a fairly minor part actually) and it's unique amongst British fests.

  2. It's Wilderness.  It's a great festival, but we've been to say 30 ish festivals over the last few years and I don't think we've paid over about £90 and that is more than enough for just a space in a field.   When we stay on campsites we have a shower block and an electric hook up for about £30 per night.  I'm surprised that '6'' also have got up to £200.   Never mind shower blocks I think for £200 I'd like a sunken bath filled with milk and honey.

As you say, Kendal's fee is more like it.

  3. Dresstrat, that was our general feeling about how much space by the time we made it through to campervan field east and then down into the festival. I think we probably were into the festival by about 1pm or so on the Wednesday, and were surprised that some fields were pretty full.

Our first Glastonbury was mmm 6-7 years ago, where we tented and I think we walked into pretty much an empty field, Either I'm mis-remembering all this stuff or I think, people are arriving earlier and earlier.

I find it pretty funny when I hear people saying how expensive Glastonbury is. We had that the delusion first time in.

Glastonbury is not a music festival.

It's an intergalactically awesome performing arts festival, and 5+ days long ....

  4. Hi everyone

A couple of years ago we arrived I think it was about 11am on the Wednesday. We couldn't believe how many people were already there, the festival felt like it had already been going for a couple of days! How many people arrive on each day, and what kind of proportion of the whole festival (crew, stewards and ticket holders) have arrived by the end of Tuesday?

  5. Hi Dave

I've been an alcohol free zone for quite a few days now, tbh I'm not sure what I do for drinks at G, but I know I'm never really stuck. Smoothies I suppose are an obvious 'luxury' choice. I don't think I've ever bought from places that are licenced (thinking about apple juice vs cider). Also, I suppose yoghurty things, ice creams, strawberries with pancakes have vaguely a 'liquid' content too ... ;)

    Bestmost
