They've been mentioned before, but Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Half Man Half Biscuit and Daniel Johnston would all fit in really well whilst still keeping varied styles of music. RB Morris would work really well too.

Le Donk? Awesome news
-
Only 14 days? Sweet!
-
You probably won't feel that temperature too much with the wind chill. And putting up tents might be tough too.
-
I'm going to give the office a call in the next couple of days - my earlybird ticket's still not arrived either. But on the plus side, geofelgie not having his yet is reassuring in a way...
-
If they do an adhoc version of "Common People" on the coloured dance floor in the woods then I think Swindles may also die with excitement...or at least faint with excitement...
Hey Swindles?!

Big Richmond Fontaine vs. The Hold Steady clash.

Broke my ankle, so it looks like I'll be coming to EOTR this year on crutches -.-
-
Whose have/haven't arrived yet??????
Mine hasn't, which I'm in a (jokey) huff about as it was ordered in the first day or two of the pre-sale under the surname Allen.........I had every chance of being one of the first!!!!!!

Wear whatever T-shirts you like, and for the love of all that is holy do NOT follow arbitrary rules set down by other people as to when you should wear them!
I keep remembering that I'm going to get to see Richmond Fontaine soon, and this makes me smile lots.
-
I'm heading down with two others. We went last year too and loved it.
-
There were lots of people clamouring for some Half Man Half Biscuit at one point... it'd be great to see them up there as headliners.
-
There's a couple of Richmond Fontaine shows in the UK in September... PLEASE let that tie in with an EOTR visit!
-
Sweet line up already (and I'm now smiling like a smileything)... can't wait to hear who else is going to be playing - I'm hoping for Slim Cessna's Auto Club, but I won't hold my breath
-
Anyone that's bought your early bird ticket for next year - did they add VAT on at the end to bump the price up to £105 per ticket, or is that just me?
-
Well whoever's playing next year i'll be there as just purchased tickets for next year-only 11 months and 360 days to go!
-
I'd love to see:
Okkervil River
Richmond Fontaine
Slim Cessna's Auto Club
Get Well Soon
Everyone who played this year (again)

That really sucks.
A wheelchair sounds like a lot better bet than crutches. If it's rainy and muddy then not going sounds like the best plan by far, but if it's not too muddy then I would have thought it would be possible to enjoy the festival. If she does choose to go it would be very sensible to make sure there is a way for her to get home at any point in the weekend. If she's taking painkillers then it might cause less problems with security if they are in a blister pack rather than a bottle...
Unfortunately from what I've read it does not look like she will be allowed to use any of the disabled facilities (a rule that doesn't make sense to me.) It's a few years since I've been to Reading, but in the past however idiotically people were behaving they'd always look out for anyone who needed it.
If she's got a cast on, then get one of these. If it's ordered today it should be with her on Monday.
The name of the doctor providing services for Reading is on the website somewhere (or it was 3 weeks ago, I can't find it now) - it might be worth phoning him for some advice.
Good luck!
Dan (hopefully having his ankle cast removed on Wednesday...)

Tom Waits for EOTR 2009
-
Shearwater say that they're playing... is this true? I'll be doing a happy dance if it is.
-
Tindersticks, maybe?
-
Sparklehorse would be awesome! Okkervil River still aren't ruled out. In my little dream world, it could be Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan (Come On Over is pure aural seduction.)
Intriguingly, Big Star and Robyn Hitchcock are down to play at Shepherd's Bush at the end of August....
-
I heard The Wave Pictures for the first time last night... they are gloriously deranged. Very glad to see that they're on the bill

Tindersticks, maybe?

Seconded. I missed them at EOTR due to an incident involving vodka and a glockenspiel - I'm really wishing I hadn't now.
