  1. The above doesn't apply to everyone and this isn't a difinitive list of the issues, but these are just some areas that are seriously lacking at Glastonbury Festival. My favourite place in the world got seriously tainted this year. If things don't change I won't be attending next year and that would be a huge shame.
  2. f**king amazing.

I love The Streets but always been a bit dubious about seeing them live as I've heard bad reports. Was a fantastic expreience, and Mike seemed genuinely emotional about being there.

And yep, the Billie Jean cover kicked ass!

  3. Heard many tales of people well over the age of 25 being IDd and refused drink because they had no ID!

I know you are supposed to carry this shit around with you but when...like me, you dont drive, you are well over 25 and funnily enough dont want to carry your passport around with you at the G...what can you do???

The girls and boys working behind the bars were sometimes well over ten years younger than my good self...so it was all a bit ridiculous...turning into the bloody US at times!

Anyone not get served becuase they are 25+ and have a babyface!

  4. I sincerely hope this is true!

My holidays started today - off to Barca tomorrow morning for Sonar, then back on Tuesday in time to head to Glasto. As you can imagine, I thought I couldn't possibly get any more excited, but now I'm hearing I could be seeing Orbital twice in a week?? The bar has just been raised!

  5. I see this year there's stereo mc's...so far that's about it! anyone else suspect anything else good? I know dizzee will probably end up on it but that dosen't count....and tinchy stryder but i'm not really a fan...
  6. Hi guys n gals,

I'm far too excited about Glastonbury already as usual.

Quick question. I've only been introduced to the Friendly Fires recently, but I think they are pretty epic.

Apparently they played last year, but unfortunately I had no idea who they were then so I missed them!

I'm crossing everything that they'll be back this year.

If you did see them, where were they playing and were they good live???

  7. Before last year I last went in 1986...it is different to how it used to be...but its better in my opinion..I apprecciate it more now im older...I honestly had more fun last year..it still a really random magical place...you'll still love it..it feels like you're going home..
  8. I've got to and from site by car the last three times, but taking the coach this year. Not really looking forward to having to limit the stuff I'll be taking - it's going to mean surviving with a smaller tent and far less booze than usual.

However, the payoff is that this year I can get fully involved in Sunday night shenanigans. I've always been the driver in the past - and my passengers were keen to get away early doors on the Monday (bit of a mission back to the north-east), so it meant a fairly reserved final night for me. This year I'm planning to seriously make the most of it... :)

  9. Also, with regards to the not real Beach Boys claim... That's just rubbish. Not every band has to literally be their name? Gong were not literally a big sheet of metal. Can were not literally a Can, the Rolling Stones weren't literally rolling pieces of rock, so what difference does it make if the Beach Boys couldn't surf? And Dennis Wilson could surf anyway. So I've proven that rubbish twice. Also, they were f**king great.
  10. Hatful was my intro to The Smiths and got me into them big time, probably similar to the guy or gal who listed the Cure album, its all a bit personal at the end of the day and nothing to get your tits in a tangle about and over intellectualise
  11. Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

    The Beatles - Revolver

Surely there can be little argument about these two?

    And a few from my own lifetime;

    Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

    Stone Roses

    Primal Scream - Screamadelica

As for the near future, possibly Arcade Fire..? I was still holding out hope that my beloved Yeah Yeah Yeahs were heading towards producing something magical, but as fantastic as the new album is, it's certainly not what could be called genre-defining or ground-breaking.
