  1. I know 2 people who have used someone else's ticket. Both got in ok, both were the same sex.  One person did have the photo checked and was told the ticket was ok, even though the image was obviously not them, 30 years age difference for a start.

I think it's pot luck really.

Glad to hear that, if there had been an issue and tickets not signed for by the addressee,  see tickets would have sent replacements .  Personally I would have shat myself if I got that message!

  5. Friends will be in the West CV field Tuesday, we were planning to queue over night anyway, but have been told we can park our car as normal in the West car parks, then walk round to join friends in CV field then enter the site Wednesday morning through the CV pedestrian gate. Does anybody have knowledge or experience of this?

  6. Did my first festival at 40, been to everyone Glasto since, i'm 55 next month, And i go at it pretty hard core too, i think my earliest to bed last year was half 3.

The main issue i find is my fitness level, i am fairly fit for my age, but as the years progress i do find my limbs ache more and more. In previous years i have not tried to 'get fit for glasto', but this year i will.

So, good comfortable foot wear, comfortable clothes, chaffing can be a nightmare, especially when hot and sweaty, blow up bed, so at least when you crash you get a few hours of decent sleep, and earplugs, and take monday and tuesday off work (if you can) to recover!

  7. Agree with Yog, the Glastoearth guide is excellent.

Also, don't camp next to a path, especially the metal tracks, you won't believe how loud people's foot steps are in the middle of the night!!!! I know, i've done it.

    Bring ear plugs.

Depending on when you arrive and which gate may determine where best to camp, although squeezing in a one man tent should be do able in most camp areas, even when they appear full, just head towards the middle of the camping field to find space, around the edges is always more full.

You will find most people are very friendly, so being on your won shouldn't be a problem.

  8. I am pretty sure The Rocket Lounge & Diner in the SE Corner were still open past 2am on the Wednesday last year. Lots of Motown played too. I really missed the Motown Party in 2014 after attending it at Williams Green in 2013. It needs to come back as the atmosphere was amazing.

    Thanks

  9. You just went to the wrong places.
Each bar Operator will fix times but mainly for Thursday to Sunday so the bars that are open on the Wednesday are far more flexible and they will pull the plug when demand drops down.
    Village Inn 11am - 2am
    Bread & Roses 11am - 2am
    Solstice Bar 2pm-12am
    Liquid Bar 5pm - 1am
    Tolpuddle 11am - 3am

Thanks Brian. I must have tried everyone that wasn't open!!!

  10. I was working in Stonebridge on Thursday, think it closed a bit earlier than than Friday/Saturday but was open until at least 3, IIRC.

What's the SE corner like on Wednesday night? I was there, I'm sure of it, but I've no idea what time I left. Might have been tucked up by midnight.

    Thanks

  11. As I work there I know that some of the favoured spots are well covered on the Tuesday when in fact there should not be any ticket holders tents - they are put up for friends of the crew - they try to stop it but it still goes on .

Last year both stewards and security were going round making people take tents down (I witnessed this in Pennards Tuesday evening). People were told if they left any tents up they would be removed. At 6am Wednesday there were some tents up in Pennards but not that many.

  12. I'm Paul. Just to let you know I am the same. Forst real festival I've ever been too and I'm 36.

Only 36, are you sure Paul. Thought you looked good on Benidorm last night.

The Glastoearth/Tort guide is excellent I think.

My best advice to all newbies is, 'don't plan to do too much each day'. Some of my best Glasto times have been when I've just been wandering and stumbled across something totally un expected. I think 3 or 4 must see/do things for each day is enough, leaving of plenty of time to wander around taking it all in.

Also totally agree with Glasto-worker about picking your entrance and ideal camping area, and making sure you can carry everything, for a mile or 2 even, over uneven ground.
