  1. Unfortunately I lost my rather expensive shades in the Healing Field. I put them down for a couple of seconds while I took some photos. When I went to pick them up they were gone. I emailed lost property but can only assume they were taken by someone. I havent bought replacements yet, as I'm still hoping that they'll be returned but it seems pretty unlikely!

I know someone who lost their phone during a muddy year. They were also very pleasantly surprised to get it back 3 months after the festival!

  2. Thanks guys! I didn't expect such nice comments! lol

I'm happy I've been able to share what some of you may have missed. It's also been great to have a lot of people say they didn't even realize there was another side to Glastonbury (ie. the Greenfields/Green Crafts). It was always my intention to focus on this side of the festival as I think photos of the bands/stages really dominate the coverage usually.

  3. I just remembered, there was another place that I didnt eat at but looked amazing. It was a roast/pulled pork sort of place right next to The Bandstand. A guy sat down next to me with a plate of food from there and no lie - I swear he had an entire joint of roast pork on his plate!

  4. Did anyone go and see them? I fully intended to go but then completely lost track of the festival and missed them. How was it? I guess it's one of those performances that wasn't filmed at all?

  5. They absolutely smashed it. The "object" that was overseeing the crowd though (thing attached to the pyramid, where the phoenix was last year) I thought looked alot like an engine, so was expecting a huge fireball when Fuel kicked in, alas Fuel never came and neither did the fire!

I thought exactly the same all weekend. I've been left wondering if anyone else actually had fireworks from it? Definitely seemed to be some pyro for Fuel but think they ran out of time. Shame as it's actually one of my favourites.

  6. I found the same thing with most of the "popular" venues. You know, the ones the program tell you that you "must do".

Each year there seems to be more and more of these small venues that people tell you that you have to do. There are always huge queues, which means you end up wasting your night or you get in and the tent is too hot and rammed. Yet you don't want to leave because you know you wont get back in again. Having smoking seperate smoking areas is probably making the problem even worse.

Another of these I saw this year was the Piano Bar. We stumbled across it in the earl hours by complete accident and I was taking my missus to see the hidden dragon. We asked what was going on and who was playing.

No-one had a clue! They were all just there queuing away in the dark because they'd been told to go. Go figure.

  7. Must admit that the music for me has got very samey after hours. Certainly in Arcadia and the SE corner. Which is ok if you're really pilled and gurning for England, but a bit of Funk and Soul Craig Charles style would be good as would a bit old school tecno and some good old 80's dance stuff.

I guess that we've been too limited in our late night wandering if this is around but in different areas, but it does seem that an awful lot of the dance stuff lacks anything interesting and is so repetitive now.

  8. We were in the Circus tent at the time. We saw the rain coming and thought it would be a great place to shelter after just leaving Avalon. While they did try and keep us informed, I felt bad for the compere who was really dying on her feet trying to keep the crowd entertained.

  9. Thanks! I have two - a Canon 7D (which stayed home this year after costing me a small fortune in cleaning last year) and a Canon 550D - lower quality but much safer for the festival!

  10. This post makes me laugh! Yes, it's the Sauna. It's strange to hear that you were surprised by this as when I stated going it wasn't uncommon to see naked people all through the festival. I think it was about 2003 apparently the police started threatening naked people in the festival and since then the festival has also changed a lot.
