  1. According to the line-up on the official site it says The Orb are playing Shangri-La and that Alex Patterson is DJing on the G Stage on the Sunday, but The Orb's official website only mentions Alex DJing. Does anyone know if the Orb are definitely playing live? Thanks.
  2. Keep hydrated. Remember to drink water throughout the day and not just booze (obviously don't get too carried away, you wouldn't want to accidently find yourself sober).

I try to drink a bottle of water with a re-hydration sachet in it before going to sleep. They are pretty cheap from Boots. This replaces all the lost minerals, salts etc, and will hopefully reduce your hangover a little.

  3. Don't really get the point of the thread but...rather than start a new one

Does/has anyone listened to Worthy FM (Ex Radio Avalon)?

I listen every year, it's compulsive once you start listening, they give information on changes to stages (i.e. bands dropping out and what changes are made) and all manner of other interesting information also fun regarding queueing to get in on Wednesday/Thursday and to get out on Monday!

  4. It might be the visit to the stone circle or that first Brothers cider..

What is your traditional , sentimental, superstitious thing you have to do at Glasto, EVERY YEAR.

Last year i hid a plectrum in a , hopefully safe place. (somewhere the cows couldn't eat it..or animal cold be harmed  )

If it is there still i will use it and re hide it.

  5. Latitude is a great festival, don't get me wrong, but you won't have as much fun there, it's far too middle-class family orientated. Last year a lady asked me if i wouldnt mind moving out of the way when i was gettin my groove on to CSS so her son (who looked a bout 6) could see.
  6. If you actually have a good look at the line up, there is a lot of bands playing that would suit Latitude. The National, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, British Sea Power, Elbow, Band of Horses, CSS, Battles, Holy f**k, Spiritualized, Crystal Castles, Caribou, Tunng, Emmy the Great, Neon Neon, The Duke Spirit, Rachel Unthank & Winterset, Stars, Foals and Patrick Watson.

Throw in some stuff that is simply too big for Latitude, like Leonard Cohen, or just too odd, Shakin Stevens, and then think about all the world music stuff that you wouldn't get at Latitude, I think you would be crazy to get a refund.

That's not to say Latitude isn't good, as I'd love to see Sigur Ros, and I like it that it's not so crowded as Glastonbury. I'm just saying that the Glastonbury line up, is in my opinion, brilliant this year.

  7. That is a great line-up - if you don't like the line-up you don't like music (Other than what Radio One tells you is good!!)

I can't even begin to start to tell you what I'm excited about - everything now I think.

It's DEFINATELY NOT a line-up to camp by the Pyramid and drink until the anthems come on. It's a line-up to get out to all the different areas.

If you don't have VERY stout walking shoes and plenty of Kendal Mint cake then you may struggle

Something going on that I want to see all the time covering EVERY stage - now THAT is good scheduling.

  8. This isn't a rumour - it's not any insider info, it's not based on ANY knowledge BUT...........

I kind of get the feeling that Radiohead could well have made a film for the cinema like Portishead did a good number of years ago.

    As I said - it's NOT a rumour - it's just a gut feel I have.

  9. I'm working/volunteering on it this year :( Happy Days (unless it's torrential rain for an entire week - which is how long I have to be on site for I think!!!!
