Hi everyone!
Was wondering if you've got a minute if you'd mind filling in my survey on volunteering at cultural events. This includes festivals, sporting events and carnivals. I'm a final year Events Management student and the research is for my final project so I would really appreciate you taking the time, I would love to hear your opinions!
You can find it at this link: http://tolu.na/WEkYDX
Thank you, hopefully see you in June!
-
I would be interested but unfortunately exams getting in the way
-
And your full name and address? please...
-
I was speaking to the volunteer manager last week and he said every charity group has the responsibility to make up their own specific number of hours, so by not turning up you would be making someone else do extra hours on top of their own so they'd be missing out on more of the festival.
Coincidently, I'm currently researching management of volunteers at cultural events for my dissertation and would really appreciate you filling out my survey if you have volunteered before, takes 2 mins!

I have worked for Hotbox events at Leeds Festival before and would really recommend it!
While we're at it, if you have ever volunteered at any kind of cultural festival or event, be it music, performance, sporting or carnival, please take a few minutes to fill out my questionnaire for my dissertation. It will be much appreciated!
Thanks

Hi guys,
I know you've had a few of these and it's abit annoying but if you have ever volunteered at any kind of cultural event or festival, be it music, sporting, carnival or celebration I would really appreciate you taking a few minutes to fill this survey in for my dissertation!
Thanks

P.S. If it hasn't been in the past 12 months could you put the answer to the 2nd question as 1.

i love pennards but really worried about getting a space there this year cos the top part is being let out for the new pre erected tent thing. it was bad enough getting a spot last time! and there's more of us going this year!
anyone recommend somewhere else good near all the late night areas but not too far from the stages?
-
this looks really good at a reasonable price! but shame it's the weekend before glastonbury...might try and work it somehow.
-
I really wanted to do my dissertation on this topic, but was discouraged by my tutor because there has not been alot of research on it before so apparently it's harder to get a better mark. Good luck to you!

You'll need to get Neil to delete the posts but you can just edit it them instead but if someone quoted you then it's stuck.
It's good to see you back, reminds me of the good ol' fun days of this thread of calling Ampersand & Pogo gay lovers and petty arguements.
Thanks. Went through editing posts but got bored. now just to sort out my -35 rep...ah well everyone has to be young and naive at some point right? haha
I used to spend hours on here!
What's the latest goss?
also nightcrawler on take me out?! what date episode? i have to watch!

Hey everyone, been a while! How are you all? What's the latest news?
Can't believe this thread is still here!
Just read through some of my old comments, some of them frankly embarassing!
Does anyone know how to delete posts?
-
haha i was just wondering the exact same thing!

This years fancy dress theme for the Saturday is fairy tales And comic books, didnt think that that many would take part last year but there were loads.
As for the weather, it was scorching last year, bit of rain on Thursday night but that was it. Here's hoping
-
All very interesting.
I don't understand why there is such reluctance to have Eavis himself as the licencee?
Am I right in thinking that FR were responsible for the operational side of the festival, working alongside glasto management?
Surely there is someone with enough experience from the glasto team and secure enough plans in place from previous years to take over quite easily?
Obviously tweaks would need to be made as always, with a shuffle around of areas and what not, but on the whole you would think the glasto team have enough experience to know what works and what doesn't.
-
what's the fancy dress theme? clearly missing something here! haha
just found out i'm working on the bar at KC this year. looks like a good festival, hope i get enough time off to enjoy it!
what's the deal with the weather? i hear it always rains in the lake district...
-
i'll work it again for a free ticket as long as the lineups decent but there's no chance i'd pay for it again!
-
i was a red camp CAT and loved it. sunday night/mon morn shift was so much better than last year so cheers guys for not being dickheads! (most of you anyway!)
we don't enjoy putting your fires out, but when you're sticking chairs and tents on fire it's our job to keep everyone safe by putting it out before it gets out of hand.
sorry to everyone i said i'd go back for a drink with later on, never made it back to red off shift!
-
i'd be torn. saw pendulum on the other stage at glasto in 09 and they were amazing.
saw them in a tent at leeds last year and they were pretty good. a highlight of the weekend.
saw them at glasto this year and they were shit.
it's hit and miss really.
though maybe my tastes have changed, as i'm now into proper DNB now and didn't used to be :/

stood near the front waiting for beyonce to come on.
the crowd around me had been stood there for about an hour when theres a commotion to my right and 2 blokes start barging their way through the crowd, rudely pushing everyone out the way to try and get to the front.
everyone sees this and the whole crowd starts booing them so they're forced to stop.
someone then nicks one of the guys hat and throws it into the crowd behind them.
they were stood in the spot for an awkward few moments with everyone glaring and booing them. the hat gets thrown back and they make a swift exit, to the delight and cheers of the crowd!
only at glastonbury!
Wow stage in the dance village
