Not looking too bad for Weston:

It can depend on how much you drink and eat. We always drink quite a bit before going in the arena so save money there!
Personally I'll take around £100, as we also take some food with us, but others in my group of friends are taking as much as £250!

If your coming with 2 women be prepared!! We have a trolley that we pack everything on to and wrap up to make an easier walk to campsite.
When you leave the motorway they have signs directing the traffic so they will direct you where they want so just follow the signs then follow the crowds from the car park towards campsites!
-
As previously mentioned when you turn up at the car park you walk in with all your stuff and just find a place to pitch your tent, you'll notice all the campsites have flags with the colours on denoting which one it is, so you'll know which one red is to avoid etc...
The car parks all depends on which way you go and also which way they are directing the traffic to be honest, they can be anything from 15 min walk to over an hour! I recommend a trolley or some way of transporting all the stuff!

Had this discussion today, I'm sure it was £15 last year!

Hi all,
I have one spare Weston park weekend with camping ticket available if anyone is interested. Ticket is in my possession just a friend that cannot no longer make it.
Anyone interested, let me know.
-
All the times I have been we have been allowed in the car park early but had to queue to get from the car park in to the campsite until 9am ish!
-
Always buy bigger if there are 4 of you, I would personally go for a 6 man tent unless you all want to sleep on top of each other.
Personally I have a pop up tent a 4 man one for 2 of us and it's great!
Try: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/C-752031-full-tent-range
Depends how much you want to spend really as you can buy them for cheap but if weather's rubbish prepared to get wet!

This year they are doing a shuttle bus from Telford train station, which might be a better option to get from Telford to the site, even if you have to get a bus from your hotel to Telford station.

I'm 25 and this will be my 6th V now, there's usually a mixture of ages which is nice!
-
They'll be fine finding a space when they get there, there's always enough space just means they may be slightly further from the arena as others have said!
-
The bus times are on the link below:

But it looks like it doesn't start to go back in to Leeds until 9ish

Yeh I know want to go the bk route because the traffic that way is awful 4 hrs last yr for 45mins journey, u need to go to Offoxey Rd but it takes u the main bloody route!!
-
Thanks for the reply. Did you venture through any of the other campsites last year? Which ones would you definitely avoid?
After going for a fair few years and trying a lot of the campsites, I have to say Green is where we usually head in a large group of us. Can always get some sleep and tends to be nice atmosphere.
Red, Orange and Blue would be the ones I personally would avoid but they are close to the arena. I also did like camping in Gold.
For people asking about directions to car parks, it can change every year. Having been 6 times I end up in a different car park every year despite going say way most years, it just depends on the time you get there and where they are directing the traffic to.

Only went for the day to Leeds on Saturday, saw a fair few enjoyable bands:
Deaf Havana- 7- Missed some of the set but have listened to them before and enjoyed it.
Spector- 8- Really enjoyed them.
Crystal Castles- 3- Do not get it at all, lots of kids running very fast to get to the front seemed strange.
Alt-J- 9- Stand out of the day for me, love the album and loved that the tent was rammed with everyone singing.
You me at Six- 6- A bit disappointed to be honest seen them earlier in the year and enjoyed it just thought they were abit off.
Bombay Bicycle Club- 7- Nice and chilled good sing along
Paramore-8- Thought they were good, seen them on their own tour few years back and they were just as good.
The Courteeners-7- Caught a few songs much better than at V 2011 good sing a long.
Would loved to have gone for the whole weekend!

Just a quickie in relation to car parking on site. From looking at the site map, looks to make sense for south car parks to be filled prior to east. Can anyone confirm at all? I know, as at all festivals we trek to > where you end up parked, is of no choice of your own, We will be arriving pretty early doors on Fri, getting in south car parks would of course be a bonus for us!
Last year they filled South first onwards, we got there early and were in South. Hope for same this year.

Thanks for the info! i have booked thursday night in the Ramada Birmingham North in Cannock (looks reasonably close to V fest and was only £30 for the night!) so will just head over to the campsites early morning. Im thinking about 5 or 6am?
-
I'll be in Green again hopefully this year, nice atmosphere nice bunch of people bit of a walk to arena but easy to get some sleep!
-
Car park opens at 8 campsite at 9, but last year they let us in early anyway.
Telford is fairly close but I would still recommend leaving a hotel early, luckily the direction from Telford is one of the quietest as it doesn't lead from any other major routes.
-
There used to be a good back route as I only live 30 mins away but 2010 it was busy every way and every direction. Left at 6.30am last year and had camp set up and sorted early with an afternoon nap!
-
I have the £25 B&Q trolley and would recommend it, as the cheaper ones the wheels tend to fall off smaller ones.
Industrial style cling film works the best wrap everything in it so nothing comes off.
-
I've always taken one, every year. However it says on the PDF email information received the other day it says 'No LPG Camping Stoves' but you can take disposable bbq. Think ill be taking mine still as I use it quite a bit.
-
Agree with others, love the undercover stage. Hard-Fi were one of the highlights of the weekend, and Fenech-Soler.
-
We usually camp in orange or green and much preferred green last year had a lovely nights sleep! Also have camped in gold before but its quite a walk from the arena. We got there around 8am last year and were let in the car park and let in to campsite around 9am and by 10am we were all set up.
