I never said anything about 50% tho, or that it should always be the goal for Werchter to book 50% female acts. That's quite unrealistic. Actually I'm not a fan of looking at percentages at all (so maybe I shouldn't have written about them). And normaly I neither notice nor care too much if there are 50, 40 or 25 percent female acts, as long as it feels somehow natural I guess. But yeah, it seems that when there is barely any female act, especially in the top lines I start to notice it^^, and thinking about it I have to say it's a bit strange and maybe even embarassing, but let's see how it turns out in the end when we see all the names:)

Rock Werchter has been going a bit middle aged man for a while now. Their choice to go for that demographic whilst other festivals have diversified musically and otherwise I suppose.

Probably a chance that there will be a female headliner, second liner etc. but I agree it is noticeable that other recent festivals have had acts like Cardi B, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Adele, Megan Thee Stallion etc. Whilst Werchter bring out Pearl Jam, Editors, Kings of Leon, RHCP for the 10th time, some of whom peaked in popularity over 30 years ago now, but will be defended on here as the biggest bands.

It seems that they will be able to do it! Neither Chemical Brothers nor The Killers were announced as headliners, so we're still missing one big name. If not The Cure, maybe RHCP? That's the only name coming to my mind now.

I was certain about Foals, but it's pretty strange they still have not been confirmed. They already have so many other dates announced for 2021...

Noooo not RHCP. They were awful in 2016.

Assuming Taylor Swift isn't playing, who is her replacement?

  3. I'm surprised at the unprofessionalism though. From an attendee point of view, I've always had a great time with no issues. I've been to much worse organised festivals, suffering through primavera for example, as well as some major ones in the UK.

Only hint I can give is one of the possible/ quite likely headline acts at Open'er has never played there at all (as far as I can tell)

Also I guess RHCP will be announced but that is a total guess. All the locals told me when they played in 2016 more people were watching the football than RHCP though so maybe they won't want to come back...

Was at that show and honestly found it pretty awful. I had seen them 10 years before that and it felt like age had definitely caught up with them

  5. Is it normal to be waiting this long? I've only been in 2016 and 2009 and don't remember there being so few announcements by April. I thought maybe because they're probably paying less than other festivals for the bands, that they have to wait but why would it be this long after other festivals?
