Ladbrokes live were giving out free tickets to all days last year. They've been on central tickets in recent years as well for the majority of days. Not to mention competitions that you were essentially guaranteed to win.

If Stormzy and The Strokes couldn't shift enough full price tickets do you really think Death Cab for Cutie are in with a shot?

Yeh, but not everyone won (I certainly didn't have any luck). They certainly are not giving them away like it used to be for BST and APE! I wouldn't rely on it, but I am sure you could pick up cheap on twickets and try your luck on the giveaways. I wouldn't say it's a guarantee though.

The Postal Service or Death Cab? Death Cab are way bigger in the US, they play tiny venues over here.

I wouldn't call the Royal Albert Hall a tiny venue...!

Think this has the potential to sell quite well and is being underestimated. I am sure they sold out RAH and roundhouse when they were over earlier this year (Death Cab) and Transatlantism is a much loved album for many so will attract a lot of casual fans. Combined with the postal service rarely playing/touring and this potentially being a UK exclusive, could do quite well with a decent undercard.

I remember the postal service being huge at the time when they first appeared too, so quite a big nostalgia pull going on too.

It's going to be great seeing LCD, Postal Service/Death Cab and Loyle Carner for about five/ten quid each when the time inevitably comes and they have shifted barely any tickets.

Anyone paying full price for these is getting mugged off. We all know what happens with APE.

except I don't think this has happened for a good few years (at least not mainstream wise, maybe the NHS/Army sites)?

Anyone that's been before got any idea on how hard it is to just walk into golden standing with a regular wristband? Don't fancy standing behind half a mile of empty field at a partially sold show on Friday.

I got into it for the Florence day a few years back (only went to see the national). Walked in the middle of a throng of people and just held my wrist up when they were supposedly checking wristbands (nothing on my wrist I don't think at all, certainly not what was meant to be there). worth a try at least!

Anyone got any ideas on how to pick up a GA ticket for Bruce next Thursday? Looking like slim to none chance now. I have got Twickets alerts set up but hardly any coming up and those that do are long gone before I get to them.

Kicking myself as had presale tickets in my shopping cart when they went on sale last year but thought I would hold off until closer to the time because I had a few other things to pay for.

A few days before Murrayfield there were quite a few released onto Twickets. Although there had been the odd one popping up the week before, which doesn't seem to have been the case with this one unfortunately...I have heard of people rocking up at the box office on the day and snagging tickets for sold out events...but I wouldn't bet on that option.

  6. My Last.FM account informed me a few weeks back that Wilco and Gwenno were playing. Has something been self announced, is it an old line up, has my last.fm just glitched out and made something up or was it some playlist somebody made and called it end of the road and I have misread? Anyway, I assumed it had been announced and they were playing until just now when I decided to check!

The National posted a low ticket warning for the show yesterday, so they might not get as cheap as people are hoping.

I wouldn't read too much into that...Im almost positive I saw Bon Iver, or someone else playing that day maybe even the festival (all points east) itself, post the same warning...right before all those free tickets were released and 'won'.

For those of you who sent a complaint email you'll probably get something like below, no thank you or anything like that as expected, and a pathetic excuse of a refund.

Thank you for your email about The Strokes on Saturday 25th May.

Sound levels and audio quality at All Points East in 2018 were widely reviewed as being excellent and we have continued to invest a lot of time and money to ensure we deliver the best sound experience for artists and fans at All Points East.

It's hugely regretful that in spite of delivering the same systems and equipment for this year’s bands, as well as delivering really good sound quality throughout the whole weekend, some fans have commented about lower sound levels where they were standingduring The Strokes.

Sound readings at the Front of House position were 99 to 100db throughout The Strokes’ set. These levels are independently monitored and are available on request. For comparison, that is louder than any previous All Points East event and we know from our own personal experiences of watching the show that the majority of audience was not affected. However, these reports show that some people were and we want fans to know that we take these complaints seriously. It is very important to us that fans know that thiswas not down to anyone turning the volume down or trying to do anything but work together to deliver a great experience.

In line with our T&Cs no full or partial refunds will be made, but as a gesture to those who feel affected we have re-allocated some guest tickets for weekend 2 for you to come back to another show on 31st May – 2nd June 2019 as our guest. The offer is madein good faith to fans who feel they were genuinely affected and so they have a chance to come back to see another show.

We have to be able to track this offer so that its gets to original ticket holders. It is therefore restricted to the primary ticket purchaser who has contacted customer services directly and is capped at the number of tickets on the original order. These are subject to availability and must be redeemed by 2pm on Thursday 30th May 2019.

They're deluded. Here's some tickets that we can barely even give away...

    The Cribs and The The?

Agree his set was great, he was clearly really enjoying himself.

    Modest mouse and the cribs?

he was one of my highlights for sure, shame I was stuck in the patty and bun queue for the majority of it! Good burgers though...

really enjoyed C+Q last night as well. Much nicer atmosphere when there is room to move around and no queues and a lot less/no drunken idiots.

very easy to smuggle booze in as well. They don’t seem to check anything you put down in the plastic box when you go through the scanner, seems completely odd. Last year they were extremely thorough with all this.

Thank you to The Strokes for joining us last night for a truly incredible show. The sound quality at our shows has been of a consistently high standard since we started All Points East in 2018 and we were disappointed to learn that there was a sound issue in some areas of the site during The Strokes' set. The sound engineers worked hard to address the problem as quickly as possible and, whilst it improved, we regret that a section of the audience didn’t have the audio experience that we expect for them. We will be responding to individual customers in the next few days.

This bit makes it seem a bit ridiculous, how do you pick and choose the individual customers?

Well they weren’t going to get an angry complaint email, but since they asked so nicely...

  11. Didn’t think the queues were too bad really, I thought getting out was a breeze. Guess it depended how far back you were once the strokes ended.

on that note, the sound was terrible on whole right side front to back, eventually moved to the back left and it was perfect, didn’t seem to be any wind so no idea who was going on there. Having said, I think the mix was bad in general and the strokes  a bit sloppy, but I guess that’s them? Something felt off with them as well, do they even like each other or want to be there? Disappointed because it did sound (the bits I could make out) like a good set list.

Sorry to hear that mate. We had same thing last year. Paid full price for 4x APE dates then SFF did cheapy tkt offer for 2x of them (LCD & Bjork). Was not impressed!

Hope you can take some  comfort from supporting the artist you love.  It seems so arbitary whether cheapy tix will show up day or so before the event. Was too much risk last time for bands we loved ;0[

Ah man I had no idea they did this last year as well?! Im on the email list, but these never got emailed out. Where about do they usually have these listed on their site?

Sometimes the deadline is genuine & will be enforced other times not so much.

Ive been 10mins late & the jobsworth on the gate refused to let me in. I went to a diff gate & tagged in with a large group. The barcode beeped invalid on the scanner but bloke just had a look then waved me through anyway. Legend!

Prob not worth the risk for APE as its so cheap & good lineup on the day if you can avoid it...

I suspect for APE it will be hand held scanners again like last year at the main entry gate so just present printout, scan & in you go (subject to security & bag checks etc).

I was under the impression you go to the box office first with these tickets to exchange or do you just go straight in and scan at the entrance?

Oh, is Stubhub trustworthy? I thought it was one of the bad ones; I tend to just use Twickets

Apart from the aforementioned moral issues, its fine and I have used it several times for real bargains. They have a pick up / store on Charing Cross Road as well.

  15. Who knows about selling out (looking at the line up on that day, I'd think you may be ok with regards to it selling out, certainly wouldn't worry about it straight away).

Usually around £80 quid I think.

If you're based in Norfolk you can pick one up locally as well if they did sell out online.
