  1. First time with a campervan. Wandered down Monday evening, found a farm to stop at near Weston, got to site Tuesday 2pm we were the only van making its way into West campervan field. Parked up on reasonably flat ground (although most were on a gentle slope )relaxed in the sun for rest of the day barbie and a few beers. Wandered through empty gates Wed am and sat up by the Park watching the festival unravel ! Waited til 4pm on Monday to leave, by which time there were no queues so made it to the M5 and home in normal time. Never experienced such an easy time of it at a festival ! Campervan gave us added comfort and only negative possibly being the extra walk either end of the day. One thing was always in the back of my mind though, if it had rained heavily after a steady flow of traffic, how easily the vans would have made it back up the hill to the tracked pathway ?!In short if I could buy my campervan ticket for 2011 in advance i'd pay the money now!!

  2. After trying along with about 500 others to get into the football field for the match (which was apparently too full ), decided we wouldn't bother so us and about 300 others sqeezed our way back out, as the security guys frantically ran out barrier tape one security guy annouced " We are now operating a one in one out policy " !? Classic

  3. watched the medical staff at work a few years ago while wife was getting a new crown for a front tooth. Have to say I was really impressed not only because of the dental care she received but also the level of medical care available to the constant flow of patients turning up. Wife still to this day reckons the temporary crown was better than the permanent one she eventually had to have fitted at the dentist!

  4. Have also had a mobile returned after wife lost it by the Stone Circle ! But I found a Blackberry in the mud as we were about to get on the coach home in 2007, thought it would be easy enough to return to owner. Phone was locked so couldn't get any numbers, took into local Vodaphone shop but they reckond they couldn't retrace the owner ?!?, posted the find on this site, ended up taking it into local Police station but even they thought they wouldn't be able to return it unless someone contacted them !

  5. o.k first time with a campervan pass this year so not sure quite how this works. Is there a different wristband for campervan field or just a seperate pass ? And how do we come off as one of our party is arriving later, in terms of them getting into the field, are our tickets different ? And does this make sense ??

  6. Just seen the full line up for this year, gutted won't be going as having a knee op just before. To those of you who are, thats a great line up !! The weather's gonna be superb this year and you've got five fantastic days to look forward to. ENJOY !! Still lucky old me i've got V to look forward to !...........

  7. Glastonbury wins every time for me, having said that wife prefers V as the whole 5 day thing is too long for her, especially when the weather is bad. Personally i enjoy them both for different reasons. At V ,seem to spend more time around the tent socialising when the arena is closed but because Glasto is a bigger event with much more going on,we rarely spend any time in the camping area { this is also due to the fact we camp at one end of the site mind you } Forget the lineup, enjoy doing something different, see different music and whatever you do DONT sell that ticket !!

  8. Glasto is definitely a must if you haven't done it before, but completely different to V. Much bigger and with a huge variety of entertainment. Expect a more chilled out festival where you can wander around for hours seeing something new each day. Obviously its longer and there is much more music on offer. Me and the wifey split on this one, I prefer Glasto but she prefers V. Not a case of which is best, more a different experience . Tell her to give it a go though, she wont regret it !

  9. The Greenpeace showers are lovely - really perk you up when you're feeling a bit minging & hungover!! You can take a ticket then come back when its your turn so you don't waste time standing in a HUGE queue... They aren't exactly mixed - you get your own cubicle, but the changing area is mixed - nothing a big towel won't sort out though! I thoroughly recommend it.

As for the clothes - I always take tons of stuff every year and end up wearing the same outfit nearly all weekend! I never learn though

  10. Believe me you won't care about looking good after awhile.

I will try and wear two different types of trousers and have a pair spare. Clean socks and pants every day. A few t-shirts, I am looking for a long sleeved white top, am wearing hoodie, then will have waterproof poncho, wellies, a cheap pair of trainers. My hair looks good for one day i.e. Wed, maybe Thursday then I have to tie it up (it is curly so I need diffuser, sink, hair products etc.) So am either wearing it up or looking for some nice head scarfs. Am taking a pair of tracksuit bottoms to wear to bed.

I am taking toothpaste, tooth brush, deoderant and some wipes, am also taking mascara (but know I won't bother with it) and vaseline......
