  1. Every weather report I'm seing seems to be giving better and better forcasts I really do think it's looking up. When we first got them up it was saying Heavy rain now a lot of it is showers.

  2. Here, we've had almost 24 hours of continuous rain... really p!ssing it down... and this morning the gale force winds started.

I can only assume that this is a necessary suffering in order to get all this sh!t weather out of the way before next week.

Can't be any worse than this.

    Surely!

    :)

  3. As I was saying over in the weather thread - there's always the last resort method for keeping warm employed by Mark in an episode of Peep Show - pee on your own legs.

  4. I've been using the same 3 season sleeping bag for the last 12 years... that's all you need!

    Failing that, thermals.

Make sure your head is a covered as possible.

    Self-inflating mattress thingummy.

    Sorted. :)

  5. Another very good reason for the emptying of bins to be more frequent.

    * lightbulb moment *

Maybe the bins could be put over the top of large underground tanks - longdrop stylee.

And a network of tractor size tunnels connect them to the recycling area.

Voila! No visible rubbish at all, so long as people use the bins.

    Ok maybe not.

  6. what i remember most about 97 is how it was the first proper muddy year during that mental/hectic period of the festival during the 90s, and the massive upside being that all the thieving f**kers and other dodgy characters f**ked off home leaving a really great up-for-it crowd behind to enjoy the entertainment in much less crowded conditions. Most of my mates aborted too, it was just me and the missus and a couple of randoms in the end - I probably saw more acts that year than any other and the atmosphere was brilliant, despite the mud and cold.

  7. Don't wanna bang on about being a veteran and all that. But, I'm sure there are many on here who remember 97, 98? Was grim wasn't it?

I remember stages sinking, shit lorries blowing instead of sucking, trenchfoot, the man on the radio on route to the site saying "its been raining solid for 48 hours!" At night it was like Mad Max, ambulances everywhere, sirens blaring, people falling, raving, tripping everywhere, horizontal sheet rain, a real possibility of the whole gig being cancelled!

But I also remember Radiohead in 97, Dylan in 98 when the sun shone for the first time. Oh and for some reason I remember being in a clothes stall, knee deep in water watching Beckham score a free kick against Columbia! Good times, happy times! People, next week will be a wonderful festival, the weather will happen, we'll get wrecked, we'll trip, fall, get lost, we'll bimble! Doesn't get any better than that. :)

  8. Anybody else wishing for a dry Sunday night / Monday morning?

Nothing more than depressing than having to pack your stuff away in nature's own cold shower.... :(

Other than that, a bit of drizzle during the night, and the odd shower to keep us cool during those protracted sun-baked periods in front of a stage, and we're good to go.

That's basically what the forecasts are saying to me! :)
