Hi guys title says it all, trying to get someone into the festival via volunteering. Trying a few local leads but does anyone know if the big places, Oxfam Shelter etc or does anyone on here know someone who knows someone? Thanks in advance

At the front for stevie wonder these 3 teenage girls were trying to get the attention of the legend himself and so decided on 3 to shout "WE LOVE YOU STEVIE!!!" extremely loud, one of them then procceded to ask "what songs does he do?" to which one of the girls replied "not sure but i think he does a cover of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song!!

So did you guys have a good time? Highlights for me were muse, starting their set at the top of the hill by the medical centre and by the 3rd song being in the 3rd row!!, Lowlights the heat(sun was great sunstroke was not :<) and the seemingly extra amount of assholes present this year!

That would be awesome, there have been some big suprises in the past (Franz Ferdinand 08) so who knows? I always try to see one of the "special guests" up there if you ask the stewards/security up in the park stage they will usually tell you who the special guests are for the whole weekend!!

Worst for me was at my first one in 2005, had spend most of the day by the pyramid stage against the barrier (something like 1pm to 12am) watching bands, really excited to see new order and coldplay. So as New Order came on this 24 stone guy behind me decides he wants to get on the front so decides to start squeezing me out!! Lasted until the end but had security called on him to get him to chill, so after the end the guy waits for me to leave and tries pushing me over into the mud and water, best bit though which makes up for all his douchery is that he slips and falls straight into this huge puddle!! The peeps i was with at the front all day just laugh and walk off!!

I'll Be camping In Hawkwell for the 4th year running, it fills up really quickly due to being right next to the pyramid field (but thats one of the joys of living 5 miles away i can put the tents up on wednesday and come home for a bit!!) I think this spot is the best on the site there is nothing better than waking up and watching the first band on the pyramid for your campsite with a bacon butty in hand!!

Best thing for booze is to get stuff that will make you have a good time but wont make you run to the loo!! I don't usually drink too much beer and cider but have for the past 5 years taken two bottles of port (cleverly put in blackcurrant bottles!) You'll have an awesome time and wont need to piss every 5 minutes!!!

I have to say i am absolutely gutted DJ shlomo and the vocal orchestra aren't playing! Have seen them the past two years at the park stage sunday afternoon and both times they have blown me away!! Does anyone have any idea why they aren't back this year? Seemed like it was getting more popular last year :<

I'd reckon Placebo, new album out playing dates around that time i believe so sounds logical. As for the other two im not sure, make sure that you get the glastonbury app for your moblies this year as last year on the day it flashed up who was playing the timeslots.
If you are planning to head to the park on the saturday for the special guests go see Shlomo! saw the guy last year before the last shadow puppets played he was the best thing i saw all weekend!! Plus loads of special guests. There was get cape wear cape fly, martha wainwright, santagold and dj yoda to name a few!!

ive seen NIN but never Jane's Addiction NIN were by far the best band to play at reading 07 that gig turned me into a huge NIN fan its why im so desperate for them to play!!!

So Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction are touring together in America till the start of June then it looks like both are coming over to Europe to play some dates such as Oxegen. What do you guys reckon the chances are of these two bands playing Glasto??? Gotta say at the moment im very jelaous of people with oxegen tickets!!!!

"Above" ha ive just posted the same thing in another thread. You are right i have heard on another forum that their licence is up for renewal next year for the future of the festival i hope that the council denies it as it will finally wake up FR from neglecting this issue any further. I go to both reading and glasto every year and love them both for different reasons, but like many people think that the rioting is out of control and needs to be dealt with. The problem is until something major happens like above or it does not sell out due to the rioting FR can continue to skirt around the issue
