Hey- Just got an email from the organisers about the buses...for all those that were worried looks like they have taken it well into consideration-----www.festivalcoaches.co.uk are running shuttle busses. throughout the day...you have to pre book tho.....so get there soon....
-
They haven't answered me.....so guess we'll go with Fri Lunchtime!
-
Have just mailed the organisers, hopefully be able to answer that tomorrow!
Hoping its thurs to!!!

I've been thinking about getting a ticket for this for the last couple of months. Weather, money & noone to go with were all issues to consider, but 10mins after reading this thread for the first time in ages - WOOHAR I have ticket booked!
Good old eFests, always effective at twisting me arm....
-
Im also waiting on others...grrrrrrr!
Confident we'll be ok!
-
quite right- im guessing they read the front of the booklet and little else- and didnt even bother to go to the website. the inner page of the booklet lays out a pledge to provide an 'intimate, non corporate festival experience where
-the whole lineup is the headliner
-bands play longer sets
-high quality, locally soucred and organic food,
-caring friendly security
-no advertising hoardings
-crowd their for the music....
Oh....and of course having a SWEDISH SHOWCASE and a SECRETLY CANADIAN SHOWCASE----those two things dont target specific audiences?
Rather brilliantly- end of the road conforms to all of the other 'rules' listed.....unique headliners- Super Furry ANimals, Yo la Tengo and midlake, and a full band lambchop (check)
and finally...
if you look at his other articles- the bands he likes , are in the mainpart, either fashion elecro bands, or bleepy trend bands............and theyve all been around for ages....
rubbish

I think someone's missed the point of EOTR here (there's a clue in the title, for a start): http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/music/2007/08/..._festivals.html
Just so it's not me moaning, there's been a few minor bands added.

If you're getting a taxi I think there are stations like Gillingham that are nearer to the site than Salisbury. Also my colleague who is going got megatrain tickets from London to Salisbury for a quid.
-
Due to changing jobs I can't afford a ticket to this until the end of August but I'm hoping it won't have sold out by then. Last year was truly wonderful, and after a disappointing Glastonbury, I could do with more of the same.
Signor, we met Simon at Glasto and I think I know who you're talking about, although I was given the impression that it is now more likely for next year. It's not like they're short of great bands this year.
Having done it once though, I would advise everyone who isn't driving to bring taxi money. We waited at Salisbury station for three hours last time for the shuttle bus service - turned out to be one mini-bus. And on the way back it didn't even take us as far as Salisbury, but a pub halfway along the route. Having no cashpoints onsite didn't help, either.
Anyway, I feel that this thread is sufficiently bumped.

Also about to be added, according to other sources, are It Hugs Back, My Sad Captains, Napoleon IIIrd and Peggy Sue And The Pirates, who I want to see get into a fight with Pete And The Pirates.
Personally, it's getting past the "fantastic, there's some excellent new names" stage now and well into "bloody hell, how many stage time clashes will there be?"

I suspect the library might be literal. It seems that type of quirkfest.
Busman's holiday for me then
-
i emailed Simon and he confirmed that Midlake are on before YLT on the main stage. yay !!
-
as both yo la tengo and midlake are "headliners" on friday, does that mean they'll clash ?
-
Prospects strong for me buying a ticket straight after WOMAD -- as soon as I'm paid
Cheers for the info people, mmm beer!!!

Hi
After recovering from Glasto last weekend I'm just looking around for another festival to go to towards the end of the summer, & I'm really liking the line up of EOTR this year - SFA especially!
Can anyone who went last year tell me if the main stage is an open air stage or a tent? Many thanks

Managed to bump into Simon who runs End of the Road last weekend at Latitude Festival and confirmed both Lambchop and Willard Grant Conspiracy will be there which is fantastic. He's also hoping to get Richard Hawley to curate one of the nights but can't confirm that yet.
Shame about Besnard Lakes didn't realise they had pulled out really wanted to see them.
And William yes lots of Real Ale!
-
No working that night unfortunately.Just played some of Thirty pounds of Bone on their Myspace and sounds good not heard them before.

Sorry Festivalbob just noticed this post-no nothing going on that's catching my attention at the moment apart from Transglobal Underground playing the Komedia in a couple of weeks but I can't make it.Missed them at Wychwood festival last week as well which was a shame as played a great set apparently.
