  1. I have to say that I agree with this. Arcadia's show this year was utter pants compared to last year. They had built an incredible set, and the far bigger field was a good idea, but the actual show was just pretentious nonsense. Just make with the tunes, fire, lasers, electric men and SPONTANEITY ffs. The heavily choreographed whining, violin playing and slowly spinning people was tedious beyond belief. Maybe you were supposed to be on assorted pills to get anything from it.

  2. We had a 17 year old kid turn up to our campsite at about 4:30am on Friday morning, said he'd got over the fence and escaped security, he had blood all over his hand, we sat him down and gave him some beer and stuff, he was a really nice lad. he had no tent though and when we got back to our tent at about 1am Saturday morning we found him shivering in our tent in a camping chair, soaked to the bone, girlfriend took pity on him, dried him off, gave him a blanket and let him sleep where he was sitting. It was pretty cheeky really, but then it's cheeky to sneak in in the first place. He offered us money and ketamine and stuff too. Didn't see him after that night, hope he survived the rest of the festival ok. Elliott I salute you.

  3. Not really mate; it's all interlinked..

Nice to see you can't just invite a whole new crowd and expect the same vibe/levels of respect to be maintained

Open to the floodgates to consumerist music/ideals and youve got to expect grim ramifacations such as record number of litter

  4. I'm organising a festival next year in the village I live in as a fund raiser for our pavillion, it's going to be called Horrastock, cos the village I called Horrabridge. Just a small one for about 500 people for one day with local bands. Bit nervous about it actually.

  5. If the pile of rubish round the bins is cleared up when the bins are emptied then i agree, if not then i dont really see a difference.

  6. Just playing devil's advocate here (as i hate to see the litter everywhere) but surely a load of litter around a bin is just as bad as leaving them in a pile somewhere else in the field. (not that i do this). It seems a real shame that so much goes into the paining of the bins, but there are not enough collections to keep them usable.

  7. This was Met O long range forecast on this date last year for comparison purposes, if anyone's interested:

UK Outlook for Wednesday 16 Jun 2010 to Friday 25 Jun 2010

Generally dry for most parts with variable cloud and some sunny periods, although there is a low risk of some showery rain spreading into southern England at first. There is also a risk of rain affecting northern Scotland for a time. Generally settled conditions are expected to last over the weekend for many places, particularly southwestern areas. However, occasional light rain or showers may affect northern and eastern parts of the UK. Throughout the rest of the period, rain or showers may spread to more areas of the UK, although there will still be some sunshine. Mostly light winds may become stronger around exposed northern parts at times. Temperatures should be near normal, but slightly warmer in southern regions.

No sign of unbroken sunshine or very high temperatures then either, there's still time :D

  8. i can never understand anybody feeling the need to take drugs in a social environment. Surely this says more about the people that you are with?

Without wanting to sound judgemental, anybody that thinks its great or cool to use drugs just to enjoy themselves, try getting new mates.

  9. 2004 monday morning was by far the worst time ever even away from glasto,

ran out of bennies on sunday afternoon and it was orbital closing the other stage on sunday night so we was knacked

1 of the guys came back with some so happy days here we go for a top end to the festy, whole night is a blur

cant remember anything about orbital at all, only thing i can remember is being at the radio 1 stage in the early hours of monday morn absolutely wired,dancing/shuffling in the mud completely out of it,coming round in the longdrops about 4 in the morning and getting back to the tent bout half 4

meanwhile miss cidey has plans for getting away first thing monday morn(up at 5 and away by 6) as 6 hours up north is a long time

so gets up and cant really do much and can see miss c giving me evils while packing away(she knew that i liked sweets)

no way could i drive so got in passenger seat white as a ghost with window open, can remember a guy on way out washing our tyres with a jet thingy and me being shit scared of him,got to 1st services and went to the toilets.Came back and nicci says where you been, apparently was gone an hour so gets back in car and had to stop and get into the back as the road was freaking me out,so sat in the back and whenever i looked up at the road had to hide and whenever i closed me eyes kept juddering awake so was f***** either way

6 hours later you can imagine what i was like and the steam was like from the mrs,got finished when i got back but she calmed down next day

god knows what i had but suspect K  :(:O:(:(

moral - dont buy horse tranqualisers(knowingly or unknowingly)

This year I shall definitely be buying another one of these. In the past when I knew I was heading to a super sunny fest I would always buy one. If you have them on mist spray mode, just walk along spraying it in front of you and you stay lovely and cool. I totally forgot to get one last year.

You also make a lot of friends who ask to have some cooling spray their way. You also get a lot of 'I'll buy that off you for XXX' and 'Wow what a great idea'.

Brilliant in audiences if you set it in shoot mode, the only grumpy buggers are those you unintentionally hit when they are rolling up a fag.
