  1. Hello there fellow glasto goers !

Doing my 8th glastonbury this year, and we have always been Pennards campers. But this year, we're not so sure we'l be able to get a spot up there as we're not arriving quite as early as usual - and I was wondering, what is the general consensus about camping in either Park Home or that little Behind The Park campground ? We definitely want to be in that end of the site, and Dairy Ground could be a little further away from the action that we'd like (unless we were right on the edge on the park side).

We're a fairly rowdy bunch too, so we don't wanna end up somewhere that's super quiet and end up pissing everyone off !

    Cheers guys !

  2. I'm really hoping for MBV - As someone has already mentioned, Hop Farm is cancelled so they've got a UK festival shaped hole in their summer schedule (they were exclusive for Hop Farm wern't they?). They're legendary enough for it to be a notable booking but not so popular as to cause health and safety risks ala Pulp.

This might just be wishful thinking on my part - I've always said my dream Glastonbury gigs would be SFA, Brian Jonestown Massacre, or My Bloody Valentine headlining the park :)

  3. Laying down the finishing touches on my bands EP, and foaming at the mouth with excitement.

I'm not sure if booking recording for the three days before Glasto was a great idea or a terrible one - it's going to be a very, very enjoyable few days, but boy, am I going to be distracted.

  4. My traditional start to the festival is to go up to the stone circle about an hour before dusk and ingest something psychadelic, then get the madness started off by watching a goddamned beautiful sunset, being overwhelmed with joy at being back in my favourite place.

I remember a few years ago I did just this - 2009, perhaps ? - and the sky was unlike anything i've ever seen, it turned a slight shade of green that i've never seen a sky turn before. And no, it wasn't the psychadelics - we took photos to prove it !

  5. Alright there folks,

I'm going to be getting the coach for the first time this year, i've always either been to the drop off point or driven in other years.

My question relates to police presence at coach stops - I realise that Temple Meads is notorious for sniffer dogs and such, but the National Express coaches don't leave from there. Was just wondering if people had any experience leaving from Bristol, or if not, any city on a National Express coach.

    Thanks ! xx

  6. SUP EFESTS.

Glastonbury next f**kin' week, got my tickets in the resale, cant wait blah blah blah. A few mates of mine have purchased Crew tickets off a friend of theirs (they seem legit, so i'd imagine the tickets are the real deal) but I don't think they've anticipated things such as what names are on the tickets, wether you'l need ID, if they can camp outside of the crew areas etc etc etc.... Can anyone help ? I don't want them to get their hopes up of a magic glasto and not be able to get in/camp with us xxx

  7. I for one am f**king well excited to see some Snoop !

Sparking up a LARGE jazzy cigarette to Snoop in the sun will be perfect. Yeah, anything after Doggy Style is crap, but it's still goddamn hilarious.

  8. It is going to be absolutely insane. I can honestly say that I'm as excited to see Pavement at Brixton as I am about Glasto. I never EVER thought I would get the chance to see them live and they are one of my all time favourite bands.

    Cannot bloody wait.

  9. I honestly don't know what i'm going to do when i'm nattering to some lovely strangers and when I ask what band they are looking forward to most they say 'U2'... I think all that glastonbury spirit is going to go right out the window. If I see Bono - not that he'd fraternize with scum such as us - I will steal his glasses and shove them up his self-righteous arse.

  10. It would be epic to see them live at Glastonbury but I've already got tickets to see them at the Brixton Academy which will be MUCH better than a festival appearence.

The Atmosphere for that gig is going to be crazy. I hope.

  11. Doubt they'd second headline the Pyramid to be honest but I can defo see them turning up at some point. Another Park Stage supergroup surprise ? yes please !

Saw them at Reading and they were amazing, had to leave half way through though due to my girlfriend being too stoned. Bless.

  12. Ahhh that's a shame ! I'll just have to take my acoustic with me and pelt out pavement covers all weekend. God knows what'd happen if I didn't listen to them for 5 days

  13. I wouldn't say they aren't popular enough - yeah, they have completely dissapeared from the mainstream but their cult following is as strong as ever, and there's footage of them from '99 playing as the sun sets on the Other Stage and whilst I know they ain't that big anymore surely they'd still be popular to warrant a slot ? Echo and the Bunnymen ain't as big anymore but they still headlined....

As for not doing 'big dumb festivals', whilst they ain't as big as glasto they ARE rinsing the European festivals, playing Primavera, Roskilde, etc and also doing quite a few in the US.

It's just wishful thinking really, I am seeing them already but hey, i'm allowed to cross my fingers until the line-up release !!

Ending glasto 2010 on Conduit For Sale would be soooo damn awesome.

  14. I will, at the end of the festival, withdraw every single penny in my bank account and give it to anyone who, over the course of the weekend, manages to do any of the following things -

    - Steal Edge's hat, and throw it in the mud. I will need video evidence of his weeping face afterwards, a simple videophone will be sufficient.

    - Bring me the head of Bono Vox.

    - Convince the 'other two' that they don't need those fools that lead their band, and form an experimental jazz band, to perform on the Bandstand and high noon on the sunday. Not that any of those high-and-mighty rockstars would ever mix with proles like us.

  15. I really wanna track down an old boombox and take some tapes of some real East-Coast shit. Nas, Wu Tang, Mobb Deep..... all early 90's stuff obviously, none of that modern crap. Perfect for sitting in the sun having a blaze to.

  16. Right, first of all, I got my tickets in sundays resale after thinking I was doomed to have the first summer since '06 without glasto and it's the best feeling ever, I almost wish this could happen again because it's so exciting to look forward to all those awesome things I thought i'd be missing.

I haven't even been able to lurk on these forums because i've been so cheesed off about not getting my tickets !

Right then, Pavement have gotta be lined up for John Peel headliners ? I think they are playing in Cali on the friday but that'd mean they'd easily be able to make it for the sunday. John himself was a big fan, and they're doing loads of euro and american festivals in their huge world tour, so surely a stop at glasto would be in order ? Got tickets to see them in Brixton with The Clean (who are f**kin' ace) but an appearance at glasto would really top my weekend off !

The only other UK festival that they are playing at the moment is ATP, and I can't imagine they'd have an exclusive deal with them since they are kinda off the main festival circuit.......

AND they've been f**king shredding it on the new tour.
