  1. The best thing to do is get a cheap basic Nokia. They should last the whole weekend or get a couple of spare battery's for a couple of quid of the bay(sorry you iphone lot).

Texting is best, turn grps 2g,3g mobile web off.

What i do is go back to the car when i need a charge, drop of any dirty clothes, have a tin and smoke, have a little nap, get some clean clothes, a case of beer and have a wander back with a charged phone.

You could get two £10 Nokia phones and have one on charge in the car all the time and swap it over when you need to.

Or you could say that you will switch your phone on at certain times. 12-2, 5-7, 10-12 and off over night.

  2. Me and the wife are the same, we have been going since 95. The mud does wear you down, but the hot one's can be just as bad like it was in 2010. We have a 3 year old now as well, so will be in the kids field all day if we do go. We did not get tickets this year, we was trying from 8:30 till about mid day on ticket day, but lucked out.

The way i see it now is you cannot choose to go to Glasto, it choose's you. So i will try every year to get tickets because you cannot pick and choose when you want to go.

The cost is the other thing, it must be nearly a grand for us all to go.

We have had a VW camper for the last 2 years and been to some cracking little VW shows. They are cheap and great for the kids and from £20 to £50 for us all to go they take some beating for the price. Dont get me wrong, they are nothing like a big fest. But we still have a great time as a family and thats what its about if you ask me.

Still i will chance my arm come resale day.

  3. You only have to pay parking fines from the police or local authority.

Anything else is unenforceable on private land, unless you are clamped. Then you enter a whole new set of rules.

If you do get a ticket from the police or local authority, all ways check it because i have got off a couple where they have been filled in wrong.

  4. Milk from the float £1, from the stalls 80p. When we asked at the stall, they said it should all be 80p.

So it looks like the people on the float was making 20p extra for the fest or for there self.

I dont mind paying £1 as long as someone is not ripping of the fest of all them 20p's.

  5. How about a cheap Nokia PAYG mobile with built in FM radio, and a torch! perfect for glastonbury

Battery lasts for ages - probably the whole week. Its £5 on virgin, £10 on orange from carphone warehouse

I'm listening to it now.. comes with earphones (essential for ariel), however it can be listen to via speaker also.

    I'm impressed

  6. As a non battery powered alternative - I use a Freeplay clockwork radio in my kitchen, along with an Ipod and a belkin radio transmitter as designed to use in cars.

All you have to do is tune the radio to the right requency on FM, and bingo - instant mp3 playing music system.

Works with any radio, clockwork or not, and any transmitter.

  7. Not been on the coach for a few years, but there was some there one year. On the way home!!! They weren't the best sniffer dogs in the world though, if you know what I mean ;)

Although now I come to think of it I think they were labradors, which I don't think are ususally used as sniffer dogs. Can't remember seeing any of the littler dogs they use....

  8. If it folds, it will fold when you are loaded and bumping over the ground. Wheelie bin would work ok ish if the ground is flat and not muddy. I have tried most and what i have use for the last 8 years is a sack trolley with bigger pneumatic wheels. I use ratchet straps to strap it all to the trolley, 4 from the 99p shop.

£12 from B & Q in dashing red or yellow for the trolley.

On my way out over the years i have collected spare wheels, washers and split pins that i carry with the trolley because they are the main course for complaint on the ones i see abandoned.

The 4 wheeled things are ok if there is 3 pushing.

I have been on the look out for a 24v wheelchair to mutate into a powered trolley.

What ever you do good luck as i have not found an easy way to do it yet, only what i think is best out of what i have to work with.
