  1. We also parked in west and camped in Orange, the walk was hell, considering we did 2 heavily loaded rips. Bad times. Worth it in the end though, Orange was good.

As for leaving, we got in the car at 10:25, and made it to the main road 1hr 50mins later, officially the longest it has ever taken us to get out of V. Took us 1 hour 40 minutes to move the 20 yards. After this point, we realised there was organisation, no-one directing traffic, and we snapped, and just headed in a direct route for the exit.

  2. Terms and Conditions imply that you cannot take any professional photographic equipment into the arena, so it depends where they draw the line on the term "professional". If you don't make an earning out of your camera, I guess you can take it in, but certainly a very grey area, as most SLRs can be considered as professional equipment.

If it were me, I would leave it at home, as if you get close enough for a decent shot, you're gonna be close enough for it to be damaged in the crowd. And if you get turned away at the gate, you're gonna have to leave it in the tent, not a good idea!

  3. I'm of the reasoning that if I've been to see a band that there was a good reason for it, and an equally good reason for not going to see another. I think you should mix those that you have seen and loved, with those that you really like but have never had the chance to see. Mind you, you wouldn't be bad off having British Sea Power and Pete Doherty for headliners.

  4. Yep, unless you're in your 40s, you're gonna need ID. Some people are strict serving you, others are not. I've heard of people approaching 30 being refused booze at V. Not entirely likely you'll get ID'd, but do you really want to risk it?

Alternatively, leave the passport at home and insist your mates go to the bar!

  5. Does anybody know if there is anywhere within about 10 minutes walking distance to buy milk from? I know this is an odd question I just like me cereal in the morning lol

Also, with the wristbands, how strict are they on letting people from white/yellow/red whatever stay in other campsites instead of their own colour?

And lastly, if I were to drive down on the firday, would I have trouble finding car spaces and is it a long trek to the campsites from the carparks?

Thanks to anybody who can help

    Chelmsford site by the way

  6. I don't think originality was the main thing on their mind. Would join you but I don't think any of my mates will participate. A few of my mates and I dressed up as Smurfs at this years Benicassim festival. The amount of attention we got was astronomical, so you have been warned!

  7. Hi Paul, I suffer with Ulcerative colitis, which can also lead to sudden trips to the lavvy. In my past experience the toilets at V are by far the best at any poplar festival I have been to. They aren't what you'd call pleasant, but certainly bearable for 5 minutes. The queues may be a problem though.

My advice would be (if you are camping, which I assume you are) to run back to the campsite to use the toilets. A 5 minute walk is better than a 30 minute queue. plus they will not have been used as much as the arena toilets, so should be a bit cleaner.

If you're really concerned you could just munch a load of immodium and not eat much, but this is not recommended!

  8. i loved the festival, we were walking to the festival during the fire and the policing was comical B)

what did i do that i wouldnt do again?

i drove - and i had a car problem as i was about to return, castellon peugeot looked at my car like it was a unicorn and they had never seen one, and my insurance company put me up in a hotel in castellon for 2 nights gratis, which was fine, but castellon aint got anything worth seeing in walking distance, i beg anyone thinking of driving to reconsider, its a killer of a drive, i drove from castellon to paris to spend a couple of days there and there is no joy turning on your satnav and seeing your going to have to drive the clock round, also in an unairconditioned car, until about 5pm you will boil, there aint much scenery and can be summed up thus

    Northern France - Wind Turbines

    Southern France - Few Hills

    anyone wanting toll info,

from Calais to Benicassim its about 100 Euros

Petrol is also very expensive in France - fill up at both borders

there is NOWHERE nice to eat, its all cack, benicassim reminds me of Cleethorpes and its all expensive with pieces of indistinguishable meat, also their a bunch of cowboys, they will bring you bread and charge it per person, i saw a group of 7 girls complaining at a 14euro add on for a piece of bread each, and i saw one lad pay 5 euros for a cold bottle of water (that was 0.25 cents in the supermarket in castellon) - stay self catering, it would be a lot easier,
