  5. Headliners ?

    I seriously hope some better bands get announced.... I mean like people have said, Blink, fair enough.

    MCR and arcade fire, no... i swear arcade fire played a few years back and 1. weren't headliners and 2. I thought they were pretty crap, definitely not headliner material!!!

    Especially in a year where other festivals seem to have got pretty impressive line ups... I hate to admit V is looking more promising that Leeds.... I'll probably go Download and a day ticket at V methinks,save wasting my money at a fest with bands i dont like that much, even if I love the atmosphere there :P

    I really really really don't like Saxon.... swear to god, any more bloody Saxon, Heaven and Hell type bands, and more like MH dropping out, im gonna have a bit of a shitty time at this *festival* (spose metallica and LP will be good, and NIN, but still....)

    It's really changed my opinion of MH. I absolutely love their music, but I think they could've come to some form of agreement...

    Also, if they were so commited to their musical cause (as oppose to money) they would've done download, and if they were so arsed about posisition on stage, done download as they were offered a higher place there...

    I think Sonispheres organisers were a bit lacking in tact when they made the decision, but i suppose in the grand scale of things, Limp Bizkit are a more well known band than Machine Head (even if LB music leaves a bit to be desired) so what were the organisers meant to do?

    I am quite concerned as to the way this festival is going though, as Fear factory and MH were 2 of the bands i really wanted to see, and the lineup looks quite empty, and certainly lacking the whole *quality* promised, and its only like 2/3 weeks away......

    Just hope slipknot are there, then might cheer a few people up (including myself)

    Corey taylor seems a more reasonable guy than Rob flynn anyway lol...

    I've never seen Fear Factory and I've always wanted to, so I'm well chuffed with the announcement :P I'm really excited about Sonisphere, few people moan about it, but don't quite know what else they want!?

    I love it when things like this happen, purely because I have some friends who are a bit download elitist, and always say L+R is going to be crap. Now L+R robbed their headliners. After last years Metallica and Rage as well (who they said would never play leeds :D).

    I've only managed to get a day ticket but its for Sunday Leeds so will go and see these, panning out to be quite a good day (for me lol).

    TBH I'm not too bothered about this 3rd stage. It says about cutting edge music which means it'll all be new bands which im not too fussed about, and I'm happy with the main stage at the mo, so any future announcements are just a bonus for me :D

    For the first time in 6 years in not going this year :'(

    Hope you all get tickets and secretly i really hope radiohead are not annouced and ac/dc play as that will make me feel so much better!!!!

    Else it may become a scarlet mist jobby for a day ticket or a mass queue up at the box office when i got money..

  17. day ticket without a car?

    I've been to leeds fest 3 times camping but can't go for the full weekend this year (due to an illness). However, I'm thinking of getting a day ticket if any of the days appeal to me.

    Just wondered, I know you can get shuttle bus to the fest from coach/train station, however, how do day ticket people get back to leeds? Does the shuttle bus run until late?

    The mud didnt bother me too much

    The sound quality wasn't ideal.

    The number of absolute idiots in my campsite annoyed me. This was my 3rd leeds and although theres always been canister throwing (which i hate), tent burning on monday (which i hate), I've never known there to be so many nasty and ignorant people. My brother who's 15 years old, and looks 15 years old, was getting fully grown men trying to pick fights with him at the campsite DJ, our friendly neighbours kindly robbed 3 of our chairs 10 min after we had arrived in camp, a group of people decided it was a great idea to steal everyones gazebos and carry them over all the tents knocking into them oh and there was some idiot who at 4am scared the life out of my friend by running and jumping into her tent. Along with the idiots who decide big fires are the best thing since sliced bread.

    I'd say its because of all the young people, but im only 18 and all the people at my camp we're 18-22, and we didnt do anything that would spoil others festival. Its basically inconsiderate stupid people who cant handle themselves, people go to the festival to have a relax, listen to good music, get drunk and dance and sadly that was hard to do at this years festival even though I was with 30 of my best friends, and there was an amazing line up, which makes me seriously consider not attending my 4th leeds.
