  1. After attending all of the 19 festivals in 22 years my luck finally ran out this morning.

I have already signed up to the mailing list of one of those festival job places already assuming I will not be fortunate in the resale.

Perhaps a trip to 24h sunshine in Scandinavia if none of the above.

  2. It is possible for anybody/animal to come and go as they please on Monday. Pedestrian gate A was open with no staff present when we left about 10am.

  3. Most interesting meal of the festival though has to have been the "Monkey Gland" from BunnyChow…I'll upload a picture at some stage, but basically, it was a hollowed out bread ball, filled with meatballs, tomato sauce and salady bits…bloody marvellous!

  4. What could cut the smartphone use is if EE decided they didn't want to do the festival anymore with their free phone charging and temporary phone masts. Is there commercial sense for them to do it apart from awareness? I don't believe they actually sell anything at the festival.

It would then all hinge on another operator stepping in and there would be no guarantee they would offer the same as EE.

All baseless speculation on my part though, so you may as well ignore.

  5. Thai Smile Bournmouth just over the bridge from Beat Hotel was a favourite from our group. Those of us who had been to Thailand were instantly transported back there by the smell and then the taste of the food. Those who hadn't been were just as impressed. Reasonably priced too at about £7 for a filling plate. The £1.50 large pakoras were good too.

A falafel place between Avalon and Greenpeace was my favourite from the weekend though, it was recommended by a friend last year and the wait was worthwhile.

Although saying that, none of us had a dud meal all weekend and I didn't eat in the same place twice, eat anywhere that had a queue and only paid what I considered a fair price.

  6. There is not much difference really. They are all just as likely to get caught in the traffic around the festival. There could be large crowds at the station and you may have to wait outside the station until the platform is clear. Leave plenty of time before you train departs.

If you need to be back in London early then National Express will be better as they have coaches leaving every 30 minutes from 2.30am for £38.50. Some services are starting to sell out though.

The train is much more expensive for most services with some up to £96.50 for a one way ticket. There are some in the middle part of the day that match the £38.50 coach.

  7. There will be lots of people at that there London with often more than one service to the festival leaving at a booked time. Don't worry, your seat won't be given away. You've booked it, it's yours.

I can not help you with the Bristol issue, It has not happened to me (yet).

  8. As always with Eavis, a huge pinch of salt is needed with anything he says in an interview. From that it could be anyone from Metalicca to Renee and Renato.

Just sit tight. It's not as if you are not going to the festival based on a single act somewhere.

  9. Lets be honest here, the term 'Craft Cider Bar' is very much praying on the hype train, these ciders have been available for years as traditional ciders but much like Ales calling themselves Craft Beers they'll be able to charge a premium and attract the toffs while us people who liked real ale and cider all along will be penalized with a £1 premium on top of the £4.20 we'd expect to pay. :(
