I see the booking Manager guy mentioned Liam Gallagher is coming with oasis's first album. This makes me excited.

I have tickets for the definitely maybe tour, last night in Manchester as well, will be quality, Mrs is trying to make me sell the ticket as we will now see him perform it again at Sziget......I told her I will sell hers

Time for some people here to touch the grass and realise that not everyone has the same music taste as them. Sziget is a business, not your personal music festival.

This account/post reeks of someone that works for Sziget 😅

heuuu, no. It is not bad everywhere. You might blindly support the BullShit line up Sziget is giving us this year, but it is not everyones' case. Without criticism, festivals would keep on going with cheap/poor acts.

So please allow me, since I pay for this festival amongst others, to express what I feel about this particular year.

And then, I can show you a couple fests' in 2024 with a nice programs I consider better than Sziget (these are only a few examples).

Everyone is after a different experience for a festival, not everyone will agree on the quality of the lineup, I think what Sziget have tried to do this year is book relevant artists, depending on the genre you like will maybe decide on if you think the lineup is strong or weak, the sziget lineup this year seems to be more leaning to the dance/house/EDM side, but that genre of music is by a mile the strongest most popular genre there is currently.

All of the other lineups above seem to be more nostalgic than relevant, maybe I am wrong but I cannot remember the last time I heard that Placebo/Lenny Kravitz/Offspring/Massive attack/Pj Harvey had a hit song ? not saying they are not great performers but they are not relevant to todays market.

Sziget, may not have the biggest names, but 90% of the artists are relevant in todays market and will appeal to most of the people.

You didn’t just call Four Tet “the other guy” 😭 Four Tet is amongst the most creative and innovative electronic music artist you can find. If you know nothing of him, check out his work, it’s no bs EDM, proper art. Ofc if you flat out hate anything electronic you might still hate it but in that case I do feel for you this year 😄

I recommend checking out these tracks first:

    She moves She

    As Serious as your life

    Love Cry

    Angel Echoes

She just likes to fight, is to be played at my funeral (morbid I know) but my kids know that is a 100% non negotiable demand

If it wasn't for people like Four Tet, people like Skrillex and Fred Again wouldn't be around, words like legend get thrown around way too easy but he is definitely worthy of that title

Anyone knows any bands among these new names that play the guitar? I'd like to check them out.

Punk, metal, indiepop, anything. Female fronted, male fronted, i don't mind.

Currently listening to the official spotify playlist and Mannequin pussy might tick those boxes

  6. Demi lovato and Rita Ora would be scraping the barrel 😂

I think we can all agree for some reason festival lineups are pretty poor in general this year for whatever reason, look at Coachella and Glastonbury arguably the biggest festivals in the world and both have average at best headliners/lineups

  7. It seems they may of panicked and got this last female headliner out of desperation, no known dates this summer says they are not currently promoting an album or not that relevant these days but still living off the name.

I am always optimistic and headliners are not the reason I go to festivals, but this one has all the signs of being a "meh" headliner, always happy to be proved wrong though

Hoping we share a few more acts with Pukkelpop. Would love it if Sziget got some of:

Barry Can't Swim, Confidence Man, Jorja Smith, Maisie Peters, Miles Kane, QOTSA, Soulwax, Sugababes, The Kills, The Vaccines.

Also, maybe Michael Kiwanuka from Grape and Keane, NBT and TDCC from Summer Well.

    Any chance @Sziget2024_Leaks?

I have seen Barry cant swim and Joy annoymous in the last few weeks at the Roundhouse and both were superb, both at Pukklepop as well, both would be excellent additions

So I listened to all the stuff as well so far not too many has been added to my must watch list, after the first listen but here is my Total list of what I would check out for now

    Fred

    Four Tet

    Grandson

Liam (mainly morbid curiosity if he can be less shite than at Madcool)

    Skrillex (if true)

    Editors

    Grandson

    Argy

    MO

    Meute

    Yard act

    Ameme

Blondshell (By far my biggest new favourite frome the ones I didn’t know)

    Wednessday

    Pip Blom

Kiasmos (For some reason I have heard Looped like a 100 times but can’t remember where. I guess could be a game or Tiktok but it really annoys me that I can’t remember…)

I would recommend Overmono, they are a seriously talented duo, but they are more like a heavier version of what Fred gain does, I would check out there boiler room set they did recently if you wanted to see what they were about

My best guess is Fred and Skrillex co-headlining. I don’t see a world where Skrillex not headlining but Fred does. In fact So far Skrillex would be one of the most popular headliners. Especially that I think he hasn’t been to Sziget for 10 years.

Fred again is headlining most festivals he is at this year, pretty sure Skrillex isn't headlining any, I can see FA/Four Tet/Skrillex doing a DJ set together coachella style if all on the same day after there sets.

wait, are we really comparing Fred Again to Imagine Dragons? 😄 in terms of act popularity? 😄

The only artist this year that could even be in the category with ID and Billie, but nowhere close to their popularity, is Sam Smith. The rest are, to be frank, simply below that level.

Fred again is without a doubt one of the most popular dance music artists in the world right now, he is like dance musics best kept secret

He is currently on a last minute tour in Australia and played a lat minute gig at the Sydney opera house and they sold out in minutes with 125k people in the que, he then sold out Rod Laver arena (15k capacity) for 3 nights in a row in minutes, then flew to the gold coast for a "pop up dj set" and they sold 35k tickets in an hour

If you are not into dance music you may not of even heard of him, but I can guarantee you 100% this guy will draw the biggest crowd for any act at this festival and I would bet money he will produce the best set of the week
