Do you mean you are on the waitlist or you've got a confirmed space?

I got a space on the wait list email from them in my junk folder at about 12pm saying spaces available please pay through our donation page and this will act as a deposit :) you might have it check your junk folder I’m guessing I was further up on the waitlist then I thought I did send them dozens of emails though after they told me I had lost my spot due to the error maybe that helped fingers crossed for you and everyone else x

  2. With all the issues with shelter I finally got my space on the waitlist has anyone else? It came into my junk mail so happy hope everyone else who had the issues with them manage to bag a spot x

follow up question! is it first come first served a la oxfam? I'm under the impression you apply then they review all applications... but the guidance seems to suggest otherwise.

Fest staff isn’t £500 it’s £240 I think for Glastonbury and you have to choose a second festival with it or the deposit won’t be returned you won’t be charged extra for the second festival. Oxfam is full and I honestly can’t see anyone dropping out this year judging by what I’ve read on forums and the fb groups everyone is still trying to get spots for their friends who missed out :( I don’t know if it’s first come first served for fest staff think just be quick at 10am and then they choose you based on your profile.

That does raise the very real prospect that your friend cancels, 5 minutes later they call to offer you their place?

I know :( if only they had honoured my spot when they emailed me at 10:03 to confirm my space was just unlucky with their system crashing but my friend doesn't want to do it alone I might have to just go without her though if they offer me a spot (would be super cruel of me though haha)

Had an email from Shelter confirming my slot! Now need to decide between that and Poo Crew.  Advantages and disadvantages to both so it's a dilemma. Poo crew seem a nice bunch on fb but well it's toilets. More hours but guaranteed day off during festival. And can drive there with booze. Shelter harder work unknown days and have to get the bus - what about booze? Hmm.

Congrats! Was that because they didn’t have you down as pre registered or the waiting list situation I’m in? Hoping I’ll get an email or call from them before end of March my friend got a space and is holding out to cancel before the cut off incase I get a spot 😂

Thanks Amy I asked how the wait list works they go off whoever replied first asking to be on the waitlist 🙄I replied the next day great! Oxfam isn’t giving me much hope either I feel like no one will drop out this year

Should probably add reason for replying later was that I thought perhaps I got sent that original email I posted in error so was waiting on their response so if you replied pretty quickly to be on the waitlist chances are your be on the priority for it x

I just received an email from Shelter explaining they oversubscribed by 157 people. To make it fair they went off of the first transaction on the payment system. Completely understand it's not their fault but still gutted!

Well done everyone who secured a place! Fingers crossed for the wait list x

How did you apply for poo crew what’s the link? Anything will do at this rate haha I think I messed up didn’t realise we had to tick that little tiny circle next to £300 how annoying!

Shit, shit, shit - possibly literally as I may only have that instead of bar work!

Shelter have emailed me to say I wasn't registered!  I have emailed back to say I was and forwarded the email they have previously sent me to prove it so fingers crossed it will be sorted!  I think it's because some years ago, gmail was known as googlemail and I registered originally using myemailaddres@googlemail.com but today entered myemailaddress@gmail.com.

I'm waiting to hear from them now.

    Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏽

Oh I feel your pain it’s horrible isn’t it did you apply dead on ten too? Oxfam has sold out too I’m waiting on wateraid now to get back to me. Thing is I much preferred volunteering it then going as a punter which is the saddest thing 😭😂don’t even want an actual ticket just to work it is so much more fun

  12. Thanks all and to those who didn't get the email as me enjoy it I went last year with Oxfam so I can say I have done it once in my life if I am not successful this year or any other times :) Hopefully they will come back to me with good news I doubt it though! x

Why would it not now be reserved after it already had been ? Did they give a reason ?

Nope looks like a  blanket email to many says this see screengrabs. Honestly gutted as you'll see i did it at 10:01 i would say and then got email confirmation saying I am a volunteer at 10:01 and then cancelled at 4pm no idea. Anyone else had this?

I *think* I'm in, it crashed so didn't get confirmation screen but I got the email so fingers crossed. There's nohting we can log in to or do at the moment, waiting on more info from email?

Didn't look into it too much because didn't want to get my hopes up (but was up for poor crew/ateraid toilets so will do whatever is required). Had a quick read here but has anyone found/done a list of all the bars they cover? Have read on here glade, stonebrudge,  acoustic and guest bar, presumably all in Avalon. I'd be really happy with any of those.

To bw honest I am absolutely over the moon, I love working behind a bar anyway, if I can hear any sort of entertainment and be in the thick of Glastonbutry

Hey are you def in? I did mine at 10 am got a confirmation screen money taken and then now an email at 4pm saying technical error meant we over subscribed places?

    Hi, Dennis,

Thank you for placing your deposit to volunteer with Shelter at Glastonbury 2020. We will be in touch shortly with more information, about what will happen in the lead up to the festival and whilst you're there.

Oh happy days - email retrieved from Spam

vintagelaureate - you can remove me from resale spreadsheet but keep other members of group on. Many thanks

Hi Dennis I got that same email but just had an email in my junk folder saying my place has not been reserved looks like a blanket email to quite a few people did you get this?

  16. Hi all

I got through today paid my deposit and had an automated reply to say you are a volunteer we will be in touch. Does this mean I have secured a spot then?

I have emailed back asking a few questions such as:

Are there possibilities for us to not travel by coach if we live close to Glastonbury? i.e. make our own way to avoid travelling to London etc for a coach?

Are there restrictions on a size tent we can bring?

Do they offer online training as seems only London or Sheffield are where the training sessions are?

I also have a few medical conditions nothing that prevents me from volunteering mainly just medications I will need to bring onsite so wondered who I'd disclose that to. I am waiting to hear now.

I saw in this forum there is a Shelter Facebook Group I cannot seem to find it anyone know what it is called?

If anyone knows the answers to this would be great.

    Thanks

    Kat
