  1. Apologies if this isn’t the best place, but where’s the best place to sell tickets? I was super keen for this after the headliner announcements, but every announcement since has been poor for me. So I’m gonna be selling 2 x Reading Festival weekend tickets, probably for cheaper than retail atm.

Such a shame, but I needed maybe 3 / 4 more acts to justify it for me!

Missing Link added to the Saturday and some stuff moved around. Never Ending Game, Magnitude, Gridiron and Scarab moved to the Saturday and Bug Bath and Wrong Man moved to the Sunday.

No more artists to be added to the Sat-Sun but a preshow and side shows will be announced soon. Still a few more for the Friday as well.

Reckon they’ll add a hardcore show on the Friday in Manc? Or would that defeat the purpose

  3. Went to Reading for a fair few years but haven’t been in the past 5, but the first announcement has peaked my interest more than Download this year and today I got my ticket. Looking forward to the announcement, and hoping for Turnstile

  4. I really like American Football, and I’ve never had the chance to see them so it’s great for me. I see a fair few people unhappy though, I’m guessing the final headliner will be a bit more straight forward hardcore.

    Possible headliner ideas:

    Deftones,

    Knocked Loose,

    Suicide Boys,

Would love Deftones, but surely they’re too big. Crosses could be possible, but yeah too big I reckon. KL would be good again, not sure they’ll do it again so soon. Suicideboys would be sick, would love that.

Suicideboys / Ghostemane / Trash Talk

Shelter / Crosses / Balance and Composure /

Hatebreed / Nails / Twitching Tongues

This is the dream lineup for me, although I would expect more hip hop

I get it - bands want to switch up their festivals and Reading/Leeds wants to retain at least some element of heavy music to appease the rock fans - but it’s always to the detriment of Download and the bands just end up playing to nobody or a totally uninterested crowd.

Expect both Sleep Token and Spiritbox to get sh*t hot billing next time they’re at Download - third main Spiritbox, main sub/second headliner for Sleep Token.

2024 is probably a good year for R&L to get a couple bigger rock artists and get that crowd away from DL. A lottt of people are disappointed with DL lineup, so they should definitely pounce on that. Especially with Blink, that’s a big pull away from DL
