I have just read some of the reasons and apologise for getting heated with you. NOW I can understand what happened, shame you didnt tell us earlier Jim, I'm sure some of the people who actually come to your festival could have helped rather than see you cancel, you should have given us a bit of a chance before giving up. Not to fret now we know the real reasons we can empathise, but rem,ember Jim, we are here for you as you have been for us over the years, theres a lot of intelligence and industry in your festival goers, if this nears happening again ASK FOR OUR HELP!

Just to say I am not a mealy mouthed moaner as some would like to presume, I HAVE posted words of encouragement over the years and have NEVER made complaints at all. It just seems very strange to me that along with the cancellation, the web site and forum have been downed, so I had to make my comments here. Yes it's extremely disappointing that the festival is cancelled, but the real reason is what is required, Jim is not dealing with people who don't care here. I care a lot and apologise if I have hurt feelings, just so late in the day to cancel when 3 weeks ago all was well. To dismiss my comments as insignificant and rubbish is extremely rude and patronising, if you can't take the heat.....etc. what happened between three weeks ago and now? why canm you not give an honest reply?

I am hugely saddened to have to announce that Rhythm Festivals 2012 can not take place as over the weekend of August 24-26 at the Mansion House, Old Warden Park in Bedfordshire, as planned.

A whole series of glitches and problems made it impossible to carry on. The weather,IT RAINED BUCKETS LAST YEAR AND NOTHING STOPPED the Olympics WHAT? ARE THEY PLANNING MORE IN SHUTTLEWORTH IN AUGUST?, the Jubilee NOW WHAT WOULD THE JUBILEE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH SHUTTLEWORTH, the economic downturn WE HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THE ECONOMIC DOWNTURN FOR TWO YEARS NOW- HOW THE HELL IS THAT AFFECTING RHYTHMS? WE HAVE ALL PAID FOR OUR TICKETS THE BANDS HAVE BEEN BOOKED, SURELY THIS IS GOING TO COST THE RHYTHM COMPANY MORE TO CANCEL THAN TO CARRY ON?and a dozen other factors, including the "domino effect" of other events not happening WHAT OTHER EVENTS? GLASTONBURY IS THE ONLY EVENT THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED THIS YEAR AND THEY GAVE 2 YEARS WARNING!, all played their part. I fought long and hard to make it work for 2012, but today I have to admit defeat and hope that three week's notice will give you time to make alternative arrangements for the Bank Holiday.THREE WEEKS NOTICE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR ANOTHER FESTIVAL LIKE RHYTHMS, WE HAVE BEEN THERE FROM THE BEGINNING, WE LOOK FORWARD TO IT EVERY YEAR, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT AS AN ORGANISER TO BLOODY "GIVE UP" AND DISAPPOINT SO MANY PEOPLE! YOU WILL NEVER BE TRUSTED AGAIN! AND SOMEONE ELSE WILL COME I9N AND TAKE OVER FROM YOU AND DO A RUBBISH JOB! JIM, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROSES, YOU CANNOT CANCEL FOR THE REASONS YOU HAVE STATED! IF ON THE OTHER HAND SOMETHING PERSONAL HAS HAPPENED AND YOU JUST CAN'T COPE THEN PASS THE REINS ON TO SOMEONE ELSE, DONT JUST CANCEL ALL THE GREAT MUSICIANS AND ENTERTAINERS AND GIVE US ALL BACK OUR MONEY IT'LL COST FAR MORE THAN PUTTING IT ON!

Ticket-holders will be offered a full refund or will be able to use their tickets in 2013. Please give me a few days to sort out a returns procedure and do not send your tickets back yet as we need time to co-ordinate everything and notify the various agencies and outlets. (Anyone who has booked online over the last few days and whose order has not been processed, will receive an automatic refund over the next 5-10 days).WE DONT WANT BLOOMING REFUNDS WE WANT RHYTHMS.

The aim is to postpone the festival until 2013 and we are inviting back the acts who were booked for 2012 and hope that they can make it next year. AND YOU EXPECT US ALL TO BELIEVE YOU? YOU QUIT THIS YEAR ON US, HOW CAN WE BE ASSURED YOU WONT NEXT YEAR?

I really am very sorry that we can't meet up with you at Old Warden Park in three week's time. My team and I really did work incredibly hard to try and make the festival happen, but over the last couple of days it became clear that was impossible.YES RIGHT! WELL PUT SOME MORE WELLY IN IT AND CANCEL THE CANCELLATION! I can only apologize if you took time off work or booked hotels and travel.

I will send another email in a week or so to give more details and to outline the refund process.

I know you'll be disappointed, but believe me, nowhere near as "gutted" as I am.
