I'm gonna say Massive Attack and Beck won't be here. I have zero info but it just doesn't feel right. Way too many men on the 9 big names and way too little room for surprises as Erykah Badu.

Also, Gabi debunking that Frank was touring with a final spot at Coachella doesn't seem to be the best way to stay in good terms with an artists that is playing your fest a couple of months later. I'm absolutely sure he tried to catch him -hence the info of the tour- but somehow Frank didn't want to/they backed out, therefore Gabi being somewhat free to talk about it.

I concur, Beck has no appeal. I'm doubtful on Massive Attack and you make a valid point about Frank. I would not be shocked if none of these 3 were on the lineup.

So when is everyone's prediction on here of when we'll have the lineup? I'll open the bidding.

    - Thursday

Reports saying Gov Ball drops by the end of the week, makes sense with their leaks. I say tomorrow Primavera teases us that the lineup is coming THEN it actually drops on Thursday. Friday is not a good day to get media attention though PS seems to do everything the opposite of what we think.

The Strokes just played an arena show for NYE at Barclays Center, I wouldn't necessarily expect them back in NYC so soon.

Also, GovBall used to be serious competition for Primavera back when they still booked names like Bjork. But not so much anymore.

All of this. Strokes just performed an arena show, won't be much appeal for them to headline Gov Ball now. Agreed booking style has shifted to a younger demographic. We only shared 4 artists with them last year.

From the Gov Ball Reddit it sounds like Tame and Vampire Weekend are headlining Gov Ball with another big hip hop artist. They also likely have YBN Cordae, DAVE, Empire of the Sun, Local Natives and Foals. Will be interesting to see what shakes up.

  4. Hoping that some of the bigger Coachella omissions (Kaytranada, Grimes, Big Thief, Chemical Brothers) are all a lock for Primavera LA, making them also a likely lock for Barcelona. Either way, I think Primavera will get the best of the Coachella undercard with a bunch of surprises. We may very well be looking at the strongest festival lineup this year, they are going to have some surprises in store for us.

I was there for The Comet Is Coming. It was so warm (1:20-2:10am), sweaty and smelled like horseshit.

Hoping for Despacio in any reasonable venue. How about the Hidden Stage/Ray Ban Studios stage?

I never made it into Ray Ban Studio, line was long :(. What is it like in there? How many does it hold?

Despacio would be wicked, but it's designed for a fully closed structure given the soundsystem that is utilized. Which can still appear at Primavera, but the fest could have it all weekend similar to what Coachella and Panorama did in the past. It wouldn't necessarily be an exclusive thing for the Sunday.

Yea good point, thought that might be the case. Did you attend this year? I wonder if that indoor stage they used for the Heineken Hidden Stage could handle Despacio and just use that for all 3 days. Would be wicked indeed.

hi! new here, from Argentina. Is it crazy to believe that sunday is done in the forum because someone big plays? someone who can only play on sunday, Like Kanye with the sunday service.

No. Gabi (festival director) has already ruled Kanye out, he said this last month in an interview. I like what you are thinking and what is more likely is something liked Despacio which was just announced for London May 21, 2020. 2ManyDJs and James Murphy are both past performers of the festival so I would not be surprised for something like that.

  8. If you look at 2019 we had a lot incredible black women headlining and performing (Cardi B, she cancelled but still, Janelle Monae, Erykah Badu, FKA Twigs, Solange, Lizzo. Surprised folks aren't talking about who could fill those gaps. I think we will get some surprises here, maybe Missy Elliot, SZA, H.E.R., Snoh Aallegra (just booked for Lolla Stockholm), Lauryn Hill (been touring a lot in the States), Jamilla Woods.

Dare I say it but maybe they are working on one very exclusive name to put PS 2020 over the edge someone like Rihanna has been rumored.

Re: old school electronic - people keep saying Kraftwerk but I think The Chemical Brothers make a lot of sense. They keep announcing lots of festivals and have yet to perform in Barcelona with the new album. Seems like a good fit to me.
