I'm not sure quite how stupid a shout this is but any thoughts on Weezer showing up? I'm not too sure they will fit into the festivals demographic but their new album is doing well for all its gimmicks.

With recent gimmicks like the Africa cover getting them back on the charts last year and the surprise cover album getting traction this week, It wouldn’t surprise me if they got a Mid/3rd down slot on main stage. The fact they also have only one academy date on an album they’ve been hyping for well over 2 years just seems to me like a festival date is in order.

  2. It doesn’t seem likely that Liam will be a secret set since he’s in Switzerland the day his supposed set would happen at Leeds, if Rhino’s source is legit I’d bet on him coming on stage to do a song with Kings of Leon at Reading.

  3. For me I was hoping for a Foo’s secret set, considering it’s 10 years since that band playing the introducing stage got bottled for not actually being a foo’s secret set. But right now I’m leaning towards 1975 or BMTH for the obvious reasons of new music/tours to promote and being familiar with the festival.

See Lovebox got Wu-Tang as a UK exclusive and it's more that likely the same with Gambino. Wireless got Stormzy & RAE SREMMURD. Bestival got Silk City. EOTR got Vampire Weekend. I'm sure this can be added to as I've probably missed some out.

I don't think anybody has been announced as an exclusive as of yet have they? I mean with the amount of money they have to spend on acts surely they could have ended up with some of these acts on an exclusive instead of them playing smaller fests and they wouldn't look out of place at all. Don't know if it is just me but exclusivity makes acts seem much more exciting.

According to the reading and Leeds app pendulum are a UK festival exclusive, but that’s all I seem to have noticed.

  5. I’m a fair bit confused as to why foos wouldn’t be there as it’s been speculated for a while plus when looking at all recent lineups there’s always been at least one headliner that’s been around for 20+ years which I was certain foos would fill the role of this year. It just seems pretty strange having all headliners that have a catalogue that only goes back just over 10 years. Not saying it’s a bad thing because I personally enjoy FATM, Kendrick and AM and know there’s demand for them so it’s reasonable, just a bit strange there wouldn’t be a relatively old-timer.
