  1. Few things to say after catching up on here, and can I start off by saying that Travis Scott did not cancel RnL because of the birth of his child. It's not as if in the 9 months leading up to the baby's birth the idea that RnL might clash with it never crossed his mind, and the idea he wouldn't have realised this until the day of the birth is ridiculous. I don't know the real reason but I am intrigued.

Now I understand the line up has to reflect whats popular amongst the younger audience... but who are a majority of the other acts on that poster? I'm 17 and only Kendrick, Wolf Alice and maybe 2 or 3 other acts actually appeal to me. Its a rock festival. Why no popular indie bands? eg catfish, vaccines, peace etc... (Couldn't stand Catfish personally, you get the point im making) How come almost half of the acts we've been given so far fit into the grime/hip hop genre. This is what Wireless is for.

They could have had Paramore or Florence too, even SZA. Royal Blood must be available and would have brought this line-up up that little bit.

Only thing I can hope for is for RnL to come out and tell us it was all a wind up and announce Foos and Paramore. One can dream

Oodles of talent, sure. But it's been 12 years since Bellers and co channeled said talent into an album worth listening to more than once, and their live shows reflect that. Worth seeing if you've never seen them before, but you aren't going to be much of a fan if you haven't by this point.

I liked the Resistance and even though the 2nd Law was their weakest album, theres still some good songs. They put on a great live show - watch their performance at Rome Olympic Stadium in 2013

completely agree. I know after laughter got a lot of hate - but irrespective of that, brand new eyes and riot were both absolutely phenomenal albums.

Brand New Eyes will forever be close to my heart. Was only about 10 when it was released and loved it since

Call it impatient all you want, but when you're trying to plan your summer festivals you don't really want to be spending hundreds of pounds on a shit lineup when other festivals such as TRNSMT are smashing it. As someone who has already bought their ticket and is now seeing mates opting for other festivals it is quite irritating.

I agree - if they're gonna go back to releasing the full thing in March like they did before give people some warning. Wouldn't really mind , just quite nippy that they've been posting tweets teasing us with a lineup announcement for the past month. Give me some lineup!!

  5. This twitter meltdown after another 'coming soon' announcement is hilarious. I reckon Monday for first announcement and maybe a tweet the day before saying "Announcement tomorrow at 10am" or whatever time. Surely they cant hold this off for another 3 weeks until the brits.

Confidence Man are brilliant fun. Look up their live shows on YouTube. Also Magic Gang have some excellent tunes out. I’d recommend checking more Interpol tracks though most of all. :P

Will do! I like one Magic Gang song and its called Hotel Apathy. I only know Evil by Interpol but I think I'll have to listen some more anyway, cheers :)

The King Tuts lineup is relatively good that day. Sigrid is amazing live and King No-One I heard was pretty good too.

I had a listen to all the acts announced for that day and Sigrid was my least favourite. Not what I'm into really but I'm sure I'll find something to do

My final over the top completely unrealistic prediction :P:P

Sadly Tyler the Creator is banned from the UK for 3-5 years and it doesn't look like he's getting away with the 3! Will probably be closer to 2020/2021 before we see him, which is pretty shit

  9. Pissed about Vampire Weekend being a UK festival exclusive and it not being at RnL. They better do a UK tour on their own as I'm dying to see them. Also I got TRNSMT tickets for the day AM are playing and I don't know what I'm going to do for the rest of the day. Blossoms are w*nk and I know one Interpol song.

  10. So unless we get an announcement this week, could we possibly rule out an announcement until brits week? I'm really hoping for something by the 31st as most of my friends are planning on using the instalment plan but want to hear something about the lineup first, and the last day for starting the plan is the 31st. (I explained that very badly, sorry) I'm personally really happy with the likes of Kendrick, Foos, Royal Blood, Wolf Alice, and I reckon all of them are really likely. (I'd also love some Tame Impala and Arcade Fire, and hopefully Paramore!) Just a shame my friends are kinda betting on AM being there.

Also, if there's no announcement till brits week couldn't we see the 2 main stages thing as likely? If Dan's brits week info was true then the stage info is probably true too.

Can't really give much of an opinion about the 2 main stages or where they could go as this is my first year at the festival, although from what I hear about the likes of Download and other festivals in Europe, it could work! I think knowing that there will be some better alternative to Imagine Dragons if they show up. (Pretty much anything is a better alternative to that).

Sorry for the lengthy post, just had a lot to mention :)

also anyone know an Australian band called sticky fingers!?

Used to be a huge fan and saw them back in 2016 but the lead singer was acting crazy. Someone managed to get onto the stage (it was a tiny venue, barely a bar to separate the band from the crowd) and the lead kicked them. Ruined the night.

but an act being booked at TRNSMT won't affect whether they'll be at R&L or not.

One of the main reasons I've seen people use to explain why AM probably wont be at RnL is that they will play Mad Cool and TRNSMT in early summer and its unlikely for them too play other festivals in the late summer... Does this not apply to Wolf Alice or Courteeners? I know it obviously doesn't just apply to them, but you get the point I'm trying to make :)

I'm only really hoping for AM because my friends who I'm planning on going with have said they're not going if AM aren't playing :P. I do really like them, but I'd be more than happy for it to be Foos, RB and Kendrick

My friends are the same! Only reason I'm hoping they go this year is so they come... I'd be happy with those headliners too
