  1. Sadly didn’t get the proper Levels experience but it looked popping when walking to Woodsies for Slowdive/Editors.

I actually had a really nice chat with a random guy called Geoff in the bar to the right of Other Stage who helped to build the stage. A really nice chap who’s led a really interesting life travelling the world doing carpentry - retired - but now doing festival work such as this in between jobs for friends across the globe.

  2. After lightly slating him in another thread prior to the festival, I saw the lead singer of The 1975 at West Holts before Black Country, New Road.

He did stop for a few people who recognised him to give him some credit. Also fairly sure I saw one member of Young Fathers at the Pyramid too.

  3. One of my all-time favourite sets at Glastonbury. They were on top, top form and managed to breeze straight down the front for the most incredible view, sound and experience. Watched 30 mins of Elton on TV earlier and as a great as he sounded, I'm certain I made the right personal choice.

Was 'triffic to finally hear one of my favourites off Songs for the Deaf too in God is in the Radio. Such a killer tune.

Really looking forward to the O2 show later this year. image.thumb.png.47a13de147c69a4f7203c488f081d83c.png

  4. Trolleys on the way in slowing entry down and basically making life very difficult; particularly in the zig zag queue which seemed to go on forever at Gate B.

Other than that, no complaints whatsoever. Had a truly wonderful weekend.

Edit: Actually, the sound not being particularly good at certain moments (GnR/Skindred had noticeable issues with guitar levels and some gigs felt a little quiet). All peaks and troughs I suppose, the sound for QOTSA, Royal Blood and Arctics was excellent though I was a bit closer for all of those acts.

  5. The setlists from the three Euro festival this weekend have settled any lingering doubts about where I’ll be spending Sunday night.

Would love it if they played ‘God is in the Radio’. ‘Misfit Love’ is a massively underrated opener too.

Digging the new album. ‘Time & Place’ my current favourite.

  6. Met a bloke at the Arctics gig yesterday who said that after missing out in the public ballots, now has a ticket through a business contact who claimed to have bagged him one through Elton. Apparently Elton requested lots of tickets for his own use and many are now falling into the hands of random punters.

Might be a load of codswallop but interesting if true.

    Wow! Yes please 🙏🏼

With that little bit of cloud over most of it, even Fuzzy couldn't complain

Not too far off what all the experts are 'predicting.' You never know, could come to pass! 🤞🏼

The wellies/walking boots conundrum is becoming a far less bigger issue to contend with.

I had to use Sicily as the code for Manchester.

Buzzing that this was announced before the festival. Means I will 100% be at Reg with no regrets

Ha, I'm not sure how I feel about Glasto Sunday night now. I think I'll still have regrets about missing QOTSA.

Stockton is my home town. Mad that the Globe (great venue btw) have managed to secure the QOTSA.

Really cool. I get the impression that Homme really enjoys playing new and interesting places. You only have to look at Halifax and Margate this summer, and Eden Project a few years ago as evidence of that. I much prefer seeing bands I love in a multitude of venues.

  10. Nice. Will keep an eye out for those. They were on monstrous form on the two UK headline dates I managed to catch them at for the Villains tour (O2/Finsbury Park). One of the few bands which I have to see pretty much every time they're over here. Would have probably had Margate were it not for Glastonbury.

    I guess we're maybe looking at another O2 date(s)?

Related question - can you drink on the bus?

Appreciate this will sound a bit ’lads, lads, lads’ - and it’s hardly impressive - but one of my favourite Glasto travel memories was a friend and I unintentionally polishing an entire crate of lager on the coach from London in 2015. We only wanted a few to whet the appetite but ended up smashing through the entire. Silly really as it was one less crate to last the weekend…

  12. Wholeheartedly concur with the reduction in numbers. I've only been going since 2013 but the difference over the past ten years has been quite staggering.

Missed out last year so am a bit concerned at how 2023 will compared to 2019. My guess is it will be even more busy and difficult to get about the place.
