What I want: Florence, Kanye, BMTH + Royal Blood
What I think we’ll get: 1975 + BMTH, Florence, Stormzy

Easily. I honestly think he could get away with headlining.
If anyone had to co headline with Kendrick it should've been skepta, the day would’ve probably sold out by now if they did it

Having seen footage of Courteeners live it looks like an average indie band playing average songs and a load of teenagers going mental in the crowd.
Everything Courteeners have released since St Jude has been predominately average bar a couple of songs. I used to really over rate them based on their gigs but I've sort of seen the light on them now. If it wasn't for flares and smoke bombs they'd be nothing more than FR headliners

Stormzy or BBk
Florence

J Hus has had a decent year, I don't think he should headline NME, but looking at the other acts it seems the most sensible and it wouldn't surprise me if FR pushed him. Maybe Diplo could though, seeing as Hannah Wants self confirmed headlining Dance tent
Edit: Gambino would be a dafter placement to headline as he rarely plays UK, he'd gather a very large crowd imo
Yeah J Hus with a Diplo closing set wouldn't be too bad and would offer an alright alternative to KOL. I agree that Childish Gambino would geta big crowd but it would be a lot calmer than Skepta's will be and slightly more manageable. I still think he's highly unlikely given Lovebox but it would be a nice surprise.

Childish Gambino would be just as daft. It’ll be J Hus surely.
True, feel he'd appeal slightly less to Skepta's audience if 'Awaken, My Love' is anything to go by. Just feel J Hus isn't big enough to headline it but that's probably just me not having too much knowledge of grime outside of the big artists.
-
Any chance that childish gambino will get added as NME headliner against KOL because surely they arent stupid enough to put skepta in there
-
Its safe to say that Reading and Leeds has officially become the bandana and white socks festival we all feared it would become.
-
Skepta isn’t even that big a pull to the grime Leeds audience because of parklife, which actually has a better lineup than Leeds
-
Surely skepta will pull a bigger crowd than KOL
-
Skepta sub, Courteeners NME headline? Unless they’ve exapnded NME surely no way they’d put skepta in there
-
Last years lineup looks amazing compared to that
-
I guess Kendrick is co-headlining cos the set he did on his tour isn’t long enough for an outright slot. Only logical thing I can think of
-
My deepest condolences to all those that bought weekend tickets before the lineup got released

At least indie twitter will be fun

FR messing up a lineup? Imagine my shock.

He is set to be the msot expensive headliner booked by reading. What you have to remember though is that its effectively two shows and that over time with inflation people get more expensive. My view is that after they missed out on AM and didn't book Foos they decided they didnt have much choice but to pay it.
Is this based on information or is it just a guess?
-
Do people think that Kendrick will demand a big fee? If so could it mean that they opt for two weaker headliners rather than having him with someone as big as AM or Foo's?
-
1. Foo's
2. Kendrick
3. Travis Scott
4. Wolf Alice
5. Courteeners
6. Don Broco
7. Arcane Roots
8. Krept and Konan
9. Milburn
10. Cabbage
11. The Sherlocks
12. J Hus
They'll probably release a few FR and pit acts as well but I don't know much about who plays there -
Saw Kendrick last night, easily one of the best performances I've ever seen. He could easily be the "big" headliner this year.

Surprised there’s been no announcement for their English date(s) however. Like, those will be the only ones where their pay is affected by demand right?
I’d guess they’d want to release stadium dates on their own with a new singnle and album pre order details for a pre sale or something. Could possibly be next week when all the hype from this announcement dies down.

All the other Etihad concerts this year are late May - mid June, they tend to cluster them together, so late July is unlikely.
True, I suppose Heaton Park and Old Trafford cricket ground would be likely if they were to do a north west summer date
-
I guess arctic monkeys will probably add stadium dates in that late July gap, probably Wembley and the etihad
