  1. Ok ok ok ok super excited and sorry it has taken some time to get back to this thread but we are IN!

Yesterday we got got a call from SeeTickets Glastonbury ticket office after CC'ing the CEO when we recieved an email which ignored our previous conversation with the company. Once the ball got rolling this guy was super helpful, he said we should go to the ticket office to pick up our tickets and they even refunded our parking tickets!  I have to say to get to this point was difficult but there is a reason why this is not standard, we know we made a mistake and we are so grateful someone listened and thank you for the support of this thread.

  2. Thanks for all the support. We can only try on Wednesday. You never know it could still turn up. We have printed everything off for proof and now it will all come down to the person we are talking to on the day.

We also need to buy another car parking ticket once there as they were also lost/stolen.

Best of luck for Wednesday morning .

My mum lost her pass-out and was able to get back in 20 min later after a little chat in the portacabin.  Stay friendly and you'll be just fine. X

I still hear mixed things about people trying to get in. Fingers crossed it goes ok for us.

Aw thanks Staitey. What's the latest in your predicament?

As you know there are no replacements, so we are going down on Wednesday to the ticket office to try and plead our case. We have reported to the police as stolen and we have numerous amounts of proof to say we have purchased the tickets and the mistake of the address goes back to last year's tickets. Fingers crossed it works out for the both of us.

  5. UPDATE:

Tickets have not turned up sadly but we have reported the tickets as stolen to the police now, it should not be our fault if our neighbour has "lost" them.

We will be going down Wednesday morning to the ticket office to attempt to get in, I really do wish it goes well as this past week has been a nightmare.

I've got the direct number for someone in the see tickets customer relations dept if you want it?

That would help so much, they are very difficult to get hold of over the phone although I did have a nice guy answer the Glastonbury See Tickets helpline last night.

Last year my friend lost his ticket in the campervan fields before we'd even gone in. An hour at the enquiries cabin (along with a queue of around 15 people who'd done the same!) and he was in. They properly interrogate dhim and asked all sorts of questions about landmarks up his road whilst crosschecking on google streetview etc. By all accounts, everyone else in the queue got a replacement ticket too. You're telling the truth and they will see that and your story will stand up to any questioning. 100% turn up and have a go if the tickets don't turn up. I'm 99% sure you'll get in. They have to take this official stance on email at the moment, so don't let that put you off. Quite the different story when you're there and they are looking at your picture on the screen with you standing in front of them!

This has filled me with more confidence Nick, I really appreciate your comments. I know there is still a chance of being refused but we would be stupid not to try.

Have you gone through the bins covered in sauce yet?

Yes, the neighbour and I went through them together. He did also have a clean bag with all his letter which had no one else's name on apart from their own so I suspect it is possible he sent them back to sender last week... We will see.

GF are giving us no chances via email. We asked to speak to someone else but they ignored the question.

  9. UPDATE:

Royal Mail has said if they got a return to sender letter which was tracked it would go back as first class.

SeeTickets have not replied to us, so we are unsure of the process and how long it would take if the letter was sent back to them.

Glastonbury Festival has probably been the least helpful in helping us, my guess is that some other company is handling this for them with a script to follow.

  10. Thanks for those supporting me.

I did not highjack this post, I am supporting LuluC as much as she is to me. Go push your frustration on my mistakes on my thread and not here.

We admitted a mistake but we are genuine people who just want to go to a festival in which we have paid for. We are already feeling sick enough without you pointing at our flaws. People have been really helpful on this forum, the kind of people that I see and meet at Glastonbury.

This might not help but I think part of the problem is that for every person with genuine circumstances there is another, or perhaps more, with a fake scenario trying to blag it in.  It's harsh but the Festival is simply not staffed to hear and consider every case, so issues the blanket 'No paper ticket, No entry' policy.  As such you are unfortunately a victim of the Festival's popularity.

That said if it was me I would still make the effort to come armed with every piece of evidence I could lay my hands on and plead at the gate.  The worst case is they don't let you in, in which case you've only lost a trip there and back.  The best case is of course the opposite......

I still have faith that this will all come good for you though ;)

All it could take is us going to the admin cabin, take one look at us and the photo registered on their website and then job done. I know where you are coming from but when we are this side of the fence it is so frustrating!

  12. We recieved an annoying yet funny message from Glastonbury today saying if we do not find the tickets we could always try and claim it on travel or home insurance...

We just want what we paid for! Our photos are linked to our purchase why is this so difficult. Can they not see the lengths we are making to try get these back!

This is so stressful! I wish somebody would help us.

What is really outrageous is the fact you put the wrong delivery address and now expect Glastonbury to

change their policies to accommodate your failings

We make a small mistake and our tickets get sent to our neighbor and I should be punished from attending something which cost my friend, my partner and I almost £800? Now that is outrageous.

i would ask before, as if/when it does, someone might just pop it back in the post, or to the correct address if you've provided it/changed it.

hopefully they will ring the number associated with the registration/booing confirmation though.

Thanks I will do that. I have been told they are on alert for the letter so we will get notified first.

  15. 1 hour ago, ManchesterGlasto said:

Yeah but I thought someone might remember a special delivery being returned to sender? That can't happen a lot surely?

I think this would be hard to pin down, we have tried Royal Mail a few times and we did not get much from them.

    3 minutes ago, ghostdancer1 said:

do you know what/where the seetickets return address is? it might be easier to just have them hold onto it and collect it directly from their offices.

I think it might be in Nottingham and this is a good shout. If and my god I hope it does turn up, I will ask if this is possible.

  16. 20 minutes ago, ManchesterGlasto said:

Oh gosh I really feel for you!!!

the weird bit is if he's put it back in the postbox satin return to sender surely Royal Mail would be alerted that it was special delivery?

Any chance you can find out which sorting offices the mail from that box goes to and chat to them?

As it was signed for the tracking finishes there. So return to sender does not pick this up.

As crew we're told to be very very careful about tickets, as replacements are "difficult or impossible" to get. Without any scanning system (technically incredibly challenging for the scale of Glastonbury) there is no way to cancel tickets.

Not much consolation I know. I don't think anyone here has any doubts that you are genuine. A good part of that will be because we're seeing it day by day, with every agonising detail. If you've not done so already, type up a little log of dates and what you've done to attempt to recover the tickets, and send that to SeeTickets (and the festival) so they can see the full history.

You're basically needing to try and get them to break a rule which is in place for a good reason, so frame your communication with that in mind. You never know, they may just relent :)

I do really hope you can get a result on this - best of luck.

This is great advice, thank you.

We will keep trying and hopefully someone can help us. SeeTickets have been proactive in recent emails so fingers crossed.

  18. Thanks for all the support everyone.

You should have seen the amount of post that they had and I have to say we still get letters for the previous tenants after being here for 2 years, so it is possible.

I am feeling hopeful, at least we can say we have tried everything.

If they aren't in the bin, they must either still be in his house, in which case he will stumble across them and bring them over for his cash reward,  or have been posted back return to sender in which case you can hopefully easily get them sent back out again! I think this is going to end well for you too.

Hopefully they are at see tickets just in a pile of mail waiting to be opened by someone. Have you asked see tickets what their process is for this, as I assume on their system they are marked as delivered (as your neighbour signed for them).

actually, now I'm doubting myself. Why would someone sign for a letter that's not for them, only to put it back in the post???

still... I'm sure it's all going to work out X

I am feeling hopefully after today.

If SeeTickets get them they will call us (they are on alert).

So our neighbour wife signed for it but I think she just put it in a pile for her husband. Which is why he was confused at first why she would sign for something which did not have her or his name on it. I really do not think they have it at this point.

I still have my fingers and toes crossed that it will work itself out. I have good karma from finding a Macbook Air on the train the other day and giving it to Virgin.
