  1. Hi,

I'm driving down, on my own, early Thursday Morning (hoping for 7am depart) and therefore have 1 or 2 spare seats going. SE London based (Brockley) but could pick up from another local station along the South Circular up to Clapham South. I'm heading into the Love Fields therefore you'll be entering into Gate C and be parked nice and close to the gate.

Are security cool with those kegs going in? If so I might take a couple with me as well.

Bath Ales Gem is readily available in those as well so that could be a game changer.

No problems with it last year. Managed to pick a couple up for £11 each in Tesco. A steal

I certainly made comments but ' I don't think I mentioned Sales ' - some marketing genius thought up Tuborg - in fact if you were a drinker in say 1970 it was very common to see Tuborg bottles in Nightclubs - it certainly did not taste anything like the current ' Tuborg draft ' .

In the past 30 years the main draft lager in the main bars were - not in any DATE order

    Budweiser
    Carling
    Carlsberg { which was later called Carlsberg Cold }
    Carlsberg Export
    Tuborg

now at what point this marketing genius thought up Tuborg I cant say all I know is Carlsberg Cold is miles better than Tuborg.

going by the price list - I think it may have been close to 2008 when Tuborg first went on sale.

I still see Carlsberg Cold and Carlsberg Export but only in small kegs and its years since I have seen it within ' Public Bars '

These Beer Contracts run for 7 years - Now in Ireland the Company that won the current WBC contract was in fact Heineken so you never know what may happen in the future.

Now its easy to target a Company but the WBC looks at many things and top of the list is

Can the lager supplier produce enough to meet demand ? - this reduces the list to a very small handful.

If I was in charge of Carlsberg I would ditch Tuborg and switch to mass production of Carlsberg Cold and Carlsberg Export.

sure Carlsberg Export did cost a bit more but I never really picked up on any one being upset that it was a bit extra - sure drink prices at festivals is high but drop into the 02 or Wembley Stadium and its like £8+

Right now (not sure when this changed from the old Tuborg you mention), Carlsberg and Tuborg are exactly the same beers (as confirmed by the channel manager I know). Carlsberg use it for festivals as they view Carlsberg as a more premium product and insist on higher standards (such as it must be served  at a certain temperature etc), hence branding it tuborg at festivals etc.

You need a WV car park sticker and a WV wristband (or Pennard Orchard ££££) to then get into the festival through Pennards Gate. Though why would you consider parking at WV, if you're not actually staying there? Seems an odd question. Use the East or West car parks.

I think the reason someone would do this is that the Pennard gate is very quiet, and in theory you could just run down the hill on Weds AM and get yourself straight into to Pennards Hill camp ground. Grab yourself a good spot. I don't think you need a wrist band to use the gate, you only need the wrist bands to get the pass out wrist band. You can do the normal ticket out method at this gate?

In answer to the question - you need someone who has a WV pitch to buy the ticket, but having stayed there, and having seen the logistics of how the gate works, I cant see why there is nothing stopping you getting hold of a car park ticket, and then making your way around and down the lane straight to the gate....

  5. I don't know how I managed it, but last year I drove down at Wednesday lunchtime from London. I swear I saw very few cars and was in the (WV) carpark in less that 3 hours from London. I then heard about this nightmare traffic, totally confused by it.

It could have been that I followed my satnav, but I didn't see any signs telling me to go another way either? Really odd, but amazing.

  6.  Who will be the secret acts this year?

I've heard rumours of Jamie XX (and possibly the XX). Also just notices that Flo and Machine Film is being played. Could they pop along?

Both are at that Hyde Park festival so it makes sense that they would have signed UK exclusives and cannot be billed?

Got my coach ticket, but am still awaiting the Worthy View email. Once I have that I can rest easy, feeling the pressure as the lead booker and being responsible for everyone's accomodation.

Aaaa ...So the WV tickets definitely come separately? I also bought a car park pass for WV (even though I have a coach ticket) do you know if these are sent in advance?
