Personally,. I prefer 'herder and travel from the south to do it instead of boomtown.

theyre both great, independent and banging festivals though.

Depending on your 'habits' be careful with boomtown though, the security is ridiculously tight.

Hampshire police use it to drive up their conviction rates.

Looking at the lineup I think there are more on that I would watch at Boomtown, but def some good ones at BeatHerder like the Dub Pistols and Gentlemen's Dub Club.

I am pretty much committed at this point with buying the tickets and all :-)

Thanks for the heads up, but I will only be taking what is on the allowed list with me :-)

  2. After another amazing Glastonbury, I got speaking to some people while there, who told me about this one. So after getting home and severely missing the feeling of being surrounded by like-minded people I have just now purchased my tickets for this year. I will be travelling on the coach alone from Manchester and can't wait.

    See you there!

  3. We just tried the BBQ place. Was a great recommendation although my mate is now dying after the platter.

Thanks lowermead, we have already verified the location to make sure we get it right :-) also good call on having friends setup. We have some driving doing that for us.

I've done it before too and actually my delight at getting to go far outweighed the weirdness of travelling somewhere else just to come back to 1 1/2 hours from where I live :)

Yeah we are quite excited about the whole thing to be honest, it all adds to it. The coach is one way so we can jump in a car back luckily as I think the going back bit would be far less fun.

  5. Wow, thanks for all the replies guys, our coach is 9am and we are in a hotel near the station so won't be a super late one. But definitely have enough recommendations for a mini-pub crawl, a bite to eat and a book break :-)

  6. Hey,

So long story short, me and my mate could only get tickets in the resale and have to get a coach from Reading (coming from Manchester). We are going down on the Tuesday to get the coach Wednesday morning. It would be great to meet some people who are either from or travelling from Reading, maybe someone local can show us the best place to get a pre-glasto drink.

Figured it was worth an ask :-)

  7. Hey all, I am David, great site and community going on here. This year will be my second after getting totally hooked at my first Glasto last year. Was so desperate to go back we are actually travelling further to get the coach than the festival is from us (resale tickets) :-)
