Between Spaceport and the EE tent.

Really it was probably my favourite venue this year.

Steve Hillage, The Orb, Sasha and Digweed and System 7 were amongst my highlights.

Thank you  must have seen it then

I'm not making a thing about the security not really being much extra? Was this a reply to someone else?

To me it was ridiculously misplaced - I'm all up for creating that impression, I think there should have been dogs and most importantly I think there should have been less insanely detailed searching so there was time to check every bag for weapons and glass

If anything the stupid situation where they're alternating between insanely detailed checks then nothing makes the situation far far worse as there's no way they can do that sort of detail on everyone so there's always chances of getting past them. Surely some sense of balance so they CAN check every backpack quickly is the win we all want here?

They had an explosives dog just before PGA about 9am on Wed

    SHES COMING TONIGHT!!!

Myself and her mum basically told her to tell her boss to do one.

She told her boss that she has had the time booked off for well over half a year so they will just have to make do without her.

She also played the guilt trip and said that if she didn't go tonight, she would not be able to get there as the only money she has is Glastonbury spending money and she is not spending that on a train ticket.

Apparently she grew some balls over night and stuck up for self.

Absolute result. See you tomorrow morning!

    Fair play

really glad it's all resolved for you

  4. I drove past and got caught up in traffic outside red gate at 6pm yesterday evening I couldn't believe it really this far out from the festival start but there were 10-20 vehicles queued up so I don't know whether those vehicles were up for similar inspections to the general public

  5. I was working on Pennards Hill Gate last year with Oxfam and the security there said that gate was the worse for people getting caught with drugs. How accurate that info is I'm not sure but once Friday has come obviously it's the busiest gate so maybe

Not the update i was looking for today, but at least its a sign of some action on our tickets:)

Oh dear this doesn't look good is it common? Have you any idea why? Hope everything is resolved soon

  7. I suppose GLF have to be seen to be doing something but supposing a would be terroist is about to be searched wouldn't that be the ideal time for the scum to get whatever weapon they've brought out and attack? As others have said the most vulnerable areas aren't inside the festival it's at the queue to get in

I think it's just pot-luck for that sort of thing. Plus, probably bored security on the gates who wanted to have something to do.

Yes I assume it was boredom but just thought it was a little strange

  9. Last year I left at about 5pm on the Sunday and got searched on the way out I was so taken back I didn't even challenge it. Is this normal/routine the ironic thing is I've been to Glastonbury 9 times and I've only been searched once on the way in

I just can't see any potential terrorists going through the bother of trying to get a ticket in the first place! It's not as if the Manchester attacker bought a ticket to the gig at the MEN. The most obvious target at Glastonbury would be the queue and any more searches at the gates would only make this more of a target, both to remove the bag search from the equation and due to the increased size of the queue if more searches are implemented.

Quite simply, there are many easier options when it comes to something to attack.

I don't foresee Glastonbury festival becoming a target however a would be attacker doesn't need a ticket just copy what others have done using a vehicle through any of the vehicle gates to the festival.

  11. What's the bar next to the Sonic stage in Silver Hayes? I had an EPO Wristband as I worked for Oxfam last year and I was over the moon getting into there for a drink and a posh toilet

And there aren't ever sniffer dogs, are there? I think I've only ever seen them at Global....

After an afternoon on mushrooms later that night whilst dancing all of a sudden there were 2 policemen and a sniffer dog right next to me
