  1. I'm running the new stage at Bearded Theory, so I thought I'd pop in and just give you a bit of background info -

It's in partnership with the Academy of Music and Sound (an independent music college and university), who have picked (out of 2000) unsigned acts that have applied to play at Bearded Theory this year.

    • These are Indigo Velvet, Will Whisson, Riskee & the Ridicule, F.O.X, The Winachi Tribe, Winnie & the Rockettes, Pattern Pusher, Paisley Sundae, Bleedin' Noses, Record Street, Shy Billy, Patersani, LONGY & the Gospel Trash, Baron Goodlove and the Dreadful Noise, Tensheds, Broken Bones Matilda, The Seagulls, Swanvesta Social Club.)

Dan Donnelly and Rev Hammer have been kind enough to appear on Sunday 15.00-15.30 as special guest and friends of the Academy of Music and Sound.

The stage crew will be supported by the students and some Academy of Music and Sound's unsigned acts will be playing as well.

This is the first year it's running and we'd love to see you there. I appreciate how busy your festival schedule will be (plus festival schedules never go to plan), but if you find yourself wondering by please pop in and say hello! We'd really appreciate the support!

Thanks for listening to me and look forward to seeing you at the festival! :D

There's a Facebook event with the stage info here: www.facebook.com/events/226935297885355/

And I've created a playlist with a few of the bands on here. Enjoy!

  2. I think it since it started being shown on the BBC, the media coverage increased so more people became interested in going. Plus I think the main reason for them selling out faster is that the ticketing system has improved, so it can cope with more people buying them at once. I've been getting tickets for my dad since I was a kid and I've been going for the last 8 times. I think its a bit of both but mainly the ticket system has improved, I remember it when it was an hour and a half to get tickets and it wasn't because there weren't as many people getting them, it was because the system was slower and fewer people could buy them at once. You were just pressing F5 for a lot longer.

There are also fewer pages to go through than a few years ago, the main website would just crash where as now they simplify the page before ticket sales and before if you entered your details and the page went off you would have to start all over again. So it speeds things up for people.

Also, I think the rise of popularity of festival's in general, is due to the music industry changing and downloads, people want to see live music same with how vinyl are growing in popularity it's something tangible.

To be honest I hope it doesn't get any quicker I don't think I can type that quick. Sorry for the essay!

  3. So everyone has to get through the crowd- it's everyone Glastonbury, so everyone wants to get a decent spot. But I have a bit of an issue, not with the people getting through the crowd but the people who tut, give dirty looks or worse try and push back. I think it's really rude and not in the Glastonbury spirit at all, I get some people barge through which isn't right either especially when there's kids about, but I think just let it go everyone needs to get through the crowd at some point. Most people say sorry as they go through, but even if they don't I don't think the negative energy is needed. What do you think?

  4. We tried for tickets as it's my brothers 30th on the Thursday of Glastonbury, luckily we got two tickets on Wednesday for us. But now the other half of the family aren't going and it's gutting. We really wanted all of us to be together, so hopefully keeping an ear out for the secret sales. We didn't get a look in this morning! Good luck to everyone for the secret sales!

  5. I think that would be fine, having a large tent makes things so much easier. You can get changed properly and if it rains you've got somewhere you can all sit in comfortably. And it gives you room for your stuff, I always think of it like, 4 man will take two people and two sets of belongings etc.

I think people get more annoyed with how far people put their guy ropes out rather than the size of the tent. But it's Glastonbury and we're all friends so..
