  1. I was at the back for Elton and decided to leave after 15 minutes. Sound was awful and it was rammed. Ended up walking down to The Other Stage to watch some of QOTSA and then on to West Holts to catch Rudimental. It was honestly the best decision I made all weekend - being able to explore the site at night time while it was completely dead was amazing. Managed to stand directly under Arcadia as well which was a great experience. My partner stayed for Elton and she loved it, but I was glad I made the decision to explore elsewhere.

  2. I'm so glad they were able to go - I love their videos. I just really hope they have taken on board the leave no trace ethos of Glastonbury, I don't want them getting any criticism. Very keen to see what they make of Glastonbury - and given their experience, if they truly think it is the greatest festival in the world. I've got a feeling they will love it, but the busy crowds might have taken away from the experience a little. I hope not though!

Does anybody know who was there from TPD?

It’s perfect if you only want a couple more hours of music after the headliners though, think it’s open until 3 most nights, maybe just 2:30 on the Sunday?

Yeah I agree. After AM we went back to our tent in Hitchin Hill and then went to watch Fat Boy Slim and Dimension in Silver Hayes. It was so nice not having to walk all the way down to the SE corner

  4. I thought the crowd management was so good on this stage. For Sub Focus they allowed people in until it was full and then they closed the entrances and turned them all apart from one in to exits. I stood outside and watched but my partner was in there and said it was perfect.

Silver Hayes as a whole has taken so many big leaps - when I went in 2016 it felt quite soulless, but this year it really felt amazing. Lonely Hearts Club is a great venue also. The only change I would like to see is Lonely Hearts Club having more hip hop I went for Earl Sweatshirt and thought it was great. Silver Hayes 2016 had an insanely good hip hop line up.

  5. Might not be the correct thread for it, but there was a group of lads near us who bought everything new for the festival and left everything behind. Two tents, air beds, every single bit of their rubbish.

The idiots left Amazon boxes in their tent with their names and addresses on. I took a load of pictures,is it worth sending these to the festival? Is there a chance they will chase it up and potentially ban the guy?

Not sure if to just leave it and move on, or if it's worth reporting

  6. Atleast you folks didn't get tickets - I have a ticket and not sure I can attend. Taken to A&E last night just before we were about to leave for the farm. All night up A&E, now I have severe abdominal pain and can barely walk. Barring a monumental recovery within the next 24 hours, my festival could be over before it even started.

To the right as you look at it? And is that an ice cream van?

Yes, to the right of the Pyramid when when you're in the crowd. Not sure if it's an ice creeam van, haven't been myself but read on here it's apparently there.

Indeed- that's our first port of call Wednesday when it opens. We've got some cans of a lovely Cloudwater session pale for that day, with more mass market stuff for the other days.

Though am I right to think some ice cream vans sell ice too? Might not need to go to the co op if one of those around the Pyramid has some!

I've heard that there is a spot to the right of the pyramid stage that sells ice. I hope that's the case because we'll be in Hitchin Hill. May be slightly more expensive than Coop though.

We've Inch's and Old Mout.  Might test freeze once of each tonight and see how it goes.  Cheers.

Curious if you tested freezing Old Mout? Wondering if I could get away with it

  10. I'll take £6 for a cold pint all say long. We went to Escape in Swansea and it was 6.50 for a warm 440ml can of Bud that they had taken from a multi pack. It's no surprise people spend a tenner on a pill instead.

I vape a small pod system which could look like a disposable to the layman. I've actually been thinking about upgrading to one of those big tank things just so I don't get mistaken for a dispo-w*nker.

If it makes you feel any better you will still be a w*nker blowing massive coulds with your big tank 😉

I have a big tank and I'll be taking disposables to Glasto. Not ideal for the environment but I dont want to worry about recharging/losing my main vape.

I think the onus should be put on the likes of Elfbar to develop a different system instead of disposables. I also think supermarkets should have recycling points for disposables in store, and if you use them, you get a discount on your next disposable. Bring your old elfbar to recycle, get a discout on your next one.

Glasto should also put proper recycling points around site so that disposables can be recycled properly.

  12. We went in 2016, my Google Maps timeline tells me we left Swansea at 3am, parked up at 6:52am and made it to the camp site for 9:25 am. So it was about 2 and a half hours from the point we left to the car, to the point we were on Hitchin Hill.

Do you think we just got lucky, and that it will be more difficult to get in this year? Not sure if we should leave earlier or arrive later to avoid the rush.

  13. I cant stand the people who attend the festival every single year without fail, yet spend most of their time moaning about "the good old days" and how the festival is shit today in comparison. Surprise surprise, going to the same place every year without fail gets a bit more boring. Rose tinted glasses are in full effect.

Also the overall branding and marketing of the festival is pretty terrible and could do with a massive overhaul - especially the website and the merch.

  14. We went to the site last weekend on our way home from a gig. I read a whole bunch of forum posts and came to the conclusion that as long as we were respectful, there wouldn't be an issue going on site. We parked at Pilton Skate Park and then walked down the road, turned right on to Worthy Lane and walked to the bottom of Hitchin Hill and entered the site there. We didn't have to jump any fences or open any gates, and the only other people we saw were a couple of other people checking out the Pyramid.

The fence surrounding the Pyramid even had a section open so that people could go check it out. It was a Sunday so no work going on, perhaps its stricter if there is construction work.

stick them under groundsheet at night .... or obviously in a coolbox ... the onsite coop sells ice

Do you think an insulated bag like this would do the job? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Insulated-Waterproof-Leakproof-Adjustable-Shoulder/dp/B0BFYJG5C1/ref=sr_1_15?crid=2ZTRVURCPU4V9&keywords=cool+bag&qid=1680273502&sprefix=cool+bag%2Caps%2C78&sr=8-15

Thinking we could fill it with ice as we head out in the morning and have cold beers all afternoon?

I can't do warm lager either so I take cider and it tastes fine tepid. If I fancy a lager I don't mind grabbing one or two at a bar.

Dark fruits is my last resort if I can't figure something out. Do almost of all the bars exclusively sell Carlsberg? I'd be more than happy to buy pints of a half decent lager/ale but Carlsberg is not my cup of tea

  16. We are camping at Hitchin Hill and coming from South Wales. Last time we went in 2016, we left the house at 2:30am and parked up for 6am. Felt like we were towards the front of the queue as we only waited a short while when gates actually opened. I'm wondering how different it has become since 2016? Should we be looking to arrive a lot earlier and sit in the queue overnight?

  17. Does anyone know if there is somewhere on site to get a Guinness on draught?

As for the Calsberg vs craft breweries debate, even if smaller breweries cant fulfill the whole demand, it would be nice for them to have a larger share over the options available. I'm sure it wouldnt take much convincing to get the likes of Tiny Rebel to setup a bar somewhere.

I'm not too great at drinking beers warm either so I'm wondering if anyone has a solution?
