Was this the caravan near the compost loos ? We saw it abandoned this morning. Husband had a good look at it and considered towing it home!

I didn't see compost loos in the live in vehicle field. If you came in the road entrance to that field then went to the cross road and turned left, if was down on the right. I doubt you'd want it, I'm sure one of them fell through the roof.

We were in in the live in vehicle field opposite a young group who clearly only had a small van and then put up gazebo and tents. Dont disagree that you can put up tents but the size of the tents in relation to the small van was far too much. They then set about just dropping and tossing the empty cans and rubbish all weekend around there vast area never once cleaning it up, I would say about 12 people in one small van. We left after last act on Sunday and it wasn`t cleaned up then.

Could be the same ones, they had a small tent one side and a really big tent the other side. Didn't see a gazebo though. They did pitch one of the grey rubbish bins and kept that to themselves.

Generators I have no problem with as long as they are quiet and only on during the day time, with the many campervans starting up and running to load batteries up I don't think its makes any difference.

I don't have a problem with generators either, probably because I was planning on using one myself. At least I don't mind the suitcase ones which tent to be considerably quieter than the open frame ones. There was a women in a red Seat Leon who seemed to pitch up in a random place and ran her open frame generator for hours as soon as she got there.

  2. Been back a few hours, once the guy had gone who was putting people in pitches then it became a free for all. Tonnes of people using generators, pitching up where ever they wanted. There was even a group of lads who made it quite clear they didn't have to return the caravan they had borrowed, so spent the majority of the weekend doing everything they could to destroy it. Finishing with them bouncing up and down on it's roof at 3.30am this morning. So basically if there was any rules, they weren't enforced.

I had a small generator 2 years running in the caravan field and used it for a few hours a day . Nobody mentioned anything to me about not having it on.

Only problem we had was finding somewhere flat enough to run it without it switching off !

hmm, might be worth the risk then. Can I ask what type you use so I can gauge what it's noise rating is against mine?

  4. How strict are they on the no generator rule? I don't plan on running one one day and all night, but it would be nice to put it on for a couple of hours on a morning so the girls in our group can use their hair dryers after a shower and the caravan batteries can recharge a bit. It is a pretty quiet Honda and I cover it to reduce noise right down, it is about the same as my car running on idle. I'll not bring it if security are going to come and confiscate it.

Also is there anything stopping flags going up? I am planning on buying one for this seasons caravanning so it's easy to find my pitch, it'll just be a Union Jack.

  5. Hi everyone, I've just signed up. My wife got us tickets for 2016 after I kicked up a stink that I was jealous of her going to 2015 for her hen do. We are going with 2 of our friends and will be in the live in vehicle field in our caravans. I cant wait now the line up has been announced.
