Nothing for your Capital FM-listening 16-24 year olds, one of the fest's biggest demographics these days.
They can watch some grubby shit on the Other Stage. Or is it grimey?

I didn't go anywhere near John Peel or Silver Hayes this year.

Top 5, because I'm lazy...
1. Bowie, 2000
2. Radiohead, 2017
3. Arcade Fire, 2014
4. LCD Soundsystem, 2016
5. Underworld, 1999

For the first time in 5 festivals I actually watched some comedy in the Cabaret Tent (the excellent Phil Nicol), some circus acts and also a load of stuff on the Sensation Stage.

At about 5am Sunday morning, Block 9, I thought I had a conversation with my friend about the difference between old and new £5 notes.
When later continuing the conversation with her, turns out it'd all been in my head. The strange places your brain takes you...

On the Wednesday I got pretty shitfaced (I blame the weather) and lost both my wallet and my phone (in separate incidents). What a bloody nightmare! Both were handed back to me by people who saw me drop them. Thank you lovely people!

Oh btw I take back everything I've ever said about Everything in it's Right Place and how I'm not arsed about it. It was fantastic. Maybe the drugs helped.
When that initial beat dropped the crowd went mental. A definite highlight!

There was a group of kids at the barrier of Everything Everything who clearly had no interest in watching the band and just looked down at their phones the entire time. They may have been about 12, but they were close to getting a rollicking from my wife!

Tilda Swinton in the crowd after The National.

I feel utterly miserable and keep tearing up at the most ridiculous things. The bloody Lion King came on earlier and I cried.
I've come to this forum to use you all as a comfort blanket.

Best act: Radiohead
Best song: Everything In Its Right Place
Best discovery: Showhawk Duo
Most frequented stage: Pyramid

After Bowie in 2000, this was the greatest set I've seen. Just perfect. It felt like a religious experience being that close, surrounded by thousands of other fans, clearly overwhelmed by the whole experience. I don't think anybody could believe the songs they were playing... sublime!
Even my wife, who is less than a causal listener, called them "geniuses" afterwards, she was so impressed. I'm glad I don't have to divorce her...

Was really excited for The National, but was slightly underwhelmed by the set list. Stood near Tilda Swinton in the crowd though, which was a bonus haha...

We were 6 from the front and it was a carnival atmosphere. Loved it!

Barry Gibb (ok, I know that's 6...)

Thank you! You too! I'm ready to leave, but the wife is taking forever...

Yeah, that's the route I normally do, so I'm tempted by "better the Devil you know", despite getting stuck after Street for 6 hours last year. At least I know the route, and as long as I can tune into Worthy FM it'll be fine!

I want to aim for the West car parks and come through gate D. So if I came up the A303, onto the A37, at some point I'd need to break off and drive through villages like Baltsonsborough (otherwise I'll end up on the wrong side of the festival). I'm assuming they never shut these back roads off? That'd be a ball ache.
-
Oooh, ok. Last year the queue was horrendous on the A39 (after Street), so I was wondering if the A37 was a better option. Hmmm...

In the olden days the people behind you would blow on your neck.
Irrespective of the weather.
Ahh, the 90s. I loved getting blown by a stranger in a crowd.

I just wear wellies no matter what anyway, because I actually quite enjoy stomping around in them and it's also extra protection near the long-drops
-
I've been listening to Pumarosa's album to death, and I genuinely think that after Radiohead they're now my most anticipated band of the festival!
Thursday, William's Green, 8pm.

Is everybody thinking they're the second of the TBAs (with Circa Waves behind the first)?
