  1. Woo hoo managed to get Emperors tickets for the first time ever ..... I usually stay in The Shire so what's the main afvantages ( apart from parking) and am I right in thinking there's 3 separate field ? Where do you suggest for the 'older' festival goer needing a bit of sleep ?

  2. Hi been to Kendal Calling for the past 4 years and always stayed in quiet camping ( and loved it ) could anyone tell me roughly how much extra Emporers is on top of ticket ? Also if we arrive early ( using shuttle bus ) could we get in and set tents up until friends arrive ( in car ) later ? We are thinking of having a change and getting older lol Thank you xx

  3. Had a really good festival stayed in the Shire /family camping ( can't actually tell if they are the same place or different due to poor signage ) felt for people with little ones as partying went on till 2.30 one morning until security stepped and reminded them it was quiet/family ( they were a large group with no kids ) we have no kids so just meant pulling hat over ears lol. We arrived on Thursday 1pm and can't believe how fast it filled up.We had friends turned away on the Friday and sent back up to Tangerine fields as were lots of family's expecting a quiet area.

Loved the prosecco van and cocktail van up in the woodland and enjoyed loads of smaller bands up there and the African Gospel Choir on the Sunday. The lighting experiences and the fire area were amazing and the Kraken Rum stage.

Managed to get right in among it for Happy Mondays, Franz and Stereophonics and loved it but decided to stay on the bank for the majority of main stage acts. Couldn't get even near the Glow tent for Faithless or Example but wasn't that fussed as it's not my favourite venue.

Highlights of the weekend Gypsies of Bohemia,Happy Mondays,Strongbow yard for an afternoon chill and some of the brilliant comedians in soapbox ( although we quickly discovered of you wanted a seat you had to be there at least 45mins before it started).

We hit lucky with the loos and found the food was a good mix and prices ok.

Will be getting tickets for next year but as others have said it is getting a bit too big for our liking.

We've used train and shuttle bus the last couple of years and never waited long in fact both times we've got straight on. It's about a 10 min drive away the thing that took the time last year were the drug s arches dogs on bus then dogs checking bags off bus took ages. They drop you at the same place as everyone else to que. Then it's prob a 15/20 min walk to campsite ( well that's me walking to oldies camping ) xx

  7. Hi we use the train.... if you go on the KC website there's a link to virgin trains to get 25%off . They have direct trains so no changes I'm sure there is one fro London but not sure which station. The shuttle bus from Penrith was fab last year we got off the train straight on the bus and only a 15 min journey to site . Tickets are £11 online ( I've just bought ours ) Hope this helps x
