  1. A lot of Americans were scepital/annoyed that Coachella booked then again for 2013 but they smashed it and changed a lot of views, regardless of whether you were interested or just turned up to check it out they won over.

    That's a huge stretch.

  2. In the US at least, RHCP still draws surprisingly well.  In 2012-2013 they headlined three festivals I was at (Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Coachella) and were the biggest draw at all three.  I watched part of their set at Bonnaroo and it was shit.  Very lifeless.

  3. If Biffy released a number 1 album and another big arena tour, why can't they headline? They'll have achieved a hell of a lot more than Mumford and Sons...

Other than massive global success, yes, a lot more.

  4. Yeah I've just been show that too. There's no link or proof or anything so it could just be a wind up or something. Them recording an album in a month seems very un-Radiohead so I stay sceptical.

(No idea what this actually says) Edit: guess it's just a direct translation of the post on Reddit.

I've been hearing rumblings for months that they're playing at least one date in NY in June.

  5. More Radiohead catnip:

Good news for all radiohead fans. Jonny Greenwood said today in an interview with russian radio Silver Rain: "We have finished recording the new album, but we keep listening to it and change the views on the recorded material. We hope that soon we will have exactly finish it and start building plans for a next year tour". That was posted at Silver Rain's vk page. HYPE

  6. I'd love to see Adele on the Pyramid stage.  She's one great talents of her generation, and for as popular/successful as she as, comparatively few people have gotten to see her perform live.

I think people would be way more receptive of her if the other two headliners were more interesting than Foo Fighters and Coldplay.

  7. Can someone remind the new guy if there's anything behind the Foo Fighters other than it being an obvious make-up booking?  I assume there must be, but I'm curious what that is.

A friend saw them at a recent show where they said they were "going away for a while," although that doesn't necessarily preclude an appearance next year.

  8. I'm new to this board and to Glastonbury, but it's nice to know that this festival, just like every other major festival around the world, has also been ruined by young people who own cellphones and wear objectionable clothes.

  9. No idea. Maybe they were out. :P

Curious situation though with @dfarecords retweeting the article, this Kris guy going off about it and then @dfarecords, erm, rescinding their retweet. I think either way this turns out that the UK festival headline rumour heaps a shitload of doubt on any Glastonbury appearance, but I'm still not prepared to believe this isn't true at all.

I'm not convinced either way, but still leaning toward it being true.

  10. 3 high profile festivals in the US and UK... if they're headlining Coachella is a pyramid headline slot out of the question? Or Other stage? I'll make sure I get to see them wherever they play but Glastonbury would be just perfect.

I think it's only 3 so far (Coachella, a potential new fest in NY run by the Coachella people, and Primavera). I've heard they're accepting offers for other dates though.

  11. I know its £15 this year, but I know from previous years a lot of people who get them class it has "if I dont go I only lose £10"  I would be prepared to pay for half the ticket price and maybe lose a bigger chunk out of the deposit, I think this will get rid of the time wasters,

I just came in there to post something like this. A bigger down payment and no refunds seems like an easy first step.

  12. LCD Reforming would require a whole band to get back together, plus light shows and everything else that comes along with it. if they did reform, i doubt it'd end at just Coachella. how likely Glastonbury would be i have no idea - you'd think Latitude or Bestival would have a stab at getting them to headline

The people floating the LCD reunion rumors are saying that they accepting offers for dates beyond Coachella.

Trying to keep my wishlist small for my first (and likely only) Glastonbury. I'd love one Pyramid headliner I'm into (preferrably Radiohead), but wouldn't mind having a chance to check out other stages the other nights. Would love to see some acts that rarely play the states like Jamiroquai, Prodigy, Primal Scream, Spritualized and whatever Albarn is up to.

  13. Ridiculous comment. Why do you think other festivals that sell out based on their lineups for that year had them headline?

I was under the impression that Glastonbury catered to a (1) much larger audience and (2) more international audience. I'm really not understanding what's so ridiculous about this.

  14. Biffy playing small venues to nobody in the States is probably a factor as to why they won't sustain their popularity long term but here they play headline slots to tens of thousands of people here where the festival is. I don't imagine Kasabian are much bigger than them or Foals over there either but they headlined last year.

I definitely get that point, but Biffy is a distant third behind Kasabian and Foals. Skunk Anansie and Levellers are probably a better comparison (whoever they are).

  15. The utter moron saying Biffy headlining is madness.

Thanks bub.  Last time Biffy played my town in 2013, it was at a 200 person basement and it didn't sell out.  Usually Glasto headliners have a bit more global appeal, or maybe I'm just an utter moron.

  16. My flatmate was in my room while we were trying to buy tickets yesterday and she asked me who's rumoured. I said I think Coldplay and Adele are the bookies favourites and she just shuddered and looked empty (or dead iniside).

Historically, have the bookie favorites been a good indicator of who ends up on stage?
