My suggestion would be to avoid the main areas that have the extra events outside of the arena.

I've never had trouble in Green but that's the main pathway/route for day tickets and very popular for the early birds.
Orange and Red have the silent discos.
Purple is the main route in from brown/white camp and I camped there this year and won't be making that mistake again
The same with yellow, it's a main route in to the arena and has a lot of the food/drinks vendors.

Maybe Brown could be best for you guys, it's not overly crowded and it's close enough but far enough if that makes any sense.

I appreciate your comment. The silent disco was in yellow this year.

So, Reading Festival has just finished and I am already looking upon next year already! Who is down for going to Reading again next year? We had a great group that went this year. If you have never been to Reading before and your mates have pulled out or you just want to go alone and meet new people feel free to join this thread.

We also have a Facebook group too.

Also, I'd like to camp somewhere different than orange, due to some trouble this year. What does everyone that went this year think about that?

    Hey guys,

Hopefully its not too late to join.

Got my ticket through the post yesterday.

I'm coming from London on Thursday.

    Just about to message Chris.

    Hopefully seeing you lot there

I haven't received any messages from you.

I'll be rather busy from here on in until after the festival so I won't be on here again until after the festival, if anyone else is definitely coming your welcome to add me on FB and I can add you to the Camp Loner group on there.

    See you there! :)

Awesome Chris! Yeah I'm pretty busy leading up to it too. From what I briefly skimmed through past posts, are you gonna camp in roughly the same place? And if so was it Orange ?

Mass bbq on Thursday night then? :P

Yeah, it all seems like we are happy in the E section in orange, I'm sure we will have a big flag or something to help people recognise the camp.

Sounds like a good plan! :)

    Hey everyone!!

Just got my ticket through the post right now, and with failed attempts to get friends to come (very little bands this year for them) I'm still going, plus I want to make some new friends!

im glad there is so many who do come alone, so may I join you?

How many people will that make this camp Chris? Il add you on FB in a bit. Il be travelling from Surrey by train, anyone else coming that way on Thursday? We could meet and come in together? Will be great to see if we all have similar bands to see :)

    Hi, all is welcome!

I got your message on Facebook, I will have to add you as I don't have the add as friend link publicaly available.

I would say about 20ish, but probably less?

That is possible, I'm happy to message people my number nearer the time and meet people near the entrance.

I haven't received mine through yet but I'm sure they are in the process of being sent out soon.

Also, I'm due to go to another music festival the weekend before Reading so if I take a while to reply, you will know why! :)

Tried before - spoke to you briefly on there but it says I can no longer reply - so I can only assume I've ballsed something up! (I don't use Facebook so have no idea what i'm doing :P).

    I (think) I've tried again - I'll drop you a PM anyway! Cheers :)

Are you the guy that came last year? Just responded to you on FB.

I'm just back from working overseas and friends all tied with work and kids! Haven't booked Reading yet but could be tempted. Is it a really big venue or can you still get about the site? This sounds a fun group to join!!

Have just booked 2000 Trees next week and Boardmasters. Trying to source Beautiful Days ticket too! Anyone else going let me know as going to those alone too. First festivals! :)

It's not as big as Glastonbury which I went there for the first time this year, but it is fairly big.

  9. I'll be going on up with a mate, originally planned to be going alone, but I'm looking to meet new people. Coming up from Cornwall. I've no idea what to expect as it will be my first time! I'll be camping in the disabled field but happy to meet up. If anyone wants to PM me, feel free.

    Hi there!

I am really new to this whole idea of going alone. Whilst I have been before, not many of my friends share the same music taste as me ( huge Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan!) and I am really considering going this year. Is this group genuinely up for going alone this year? Also how would one meet everyone else there? And is this still okay if I only want to go for a day?

Do it, you will love it once again. I've been for the last 3 years now and just gets better and better in my view. Yeah it's fine if you wanna do that, we could meet up or something that is cool as well.
