There's no car queue. You need to park the car, walk up to gate A and then go to the box office. If you go Wednesday morning it will be busy (can't remember if saying you need the box office means you get to skip THE queue). Anytime later there's barely any queue...

    Thanks.
I will probably try to get there mid-day or early evening on Wednesday then. I will be exiting and going around the festival to the east side, unfortunately, so will have to exit and go around at some point.

  2. Looks like this is the new standard but couldn’t find much about it.  Main box office from what I could find is at pedestrian gate A. Can anyone who has had to collect before share anything about previous details of pickups?   Is there a dedicated car queue? How long did it take? Etc.

  3. My friend’s aunt is the touring manager of Coldplay.  I saw her yesterday and I asked her about them playing Glastonbury, which  she discretely confirmed.

  4. Just got some info - So the US will see a lockdown that will be compared to Italy. Only essentials.  There is already restricted travel that is being implemented to Washington and California. The rest of the nation will be decided on as a case-by-case basis but travel is discouraged regardless. Air travel is likely going to be restricted/suspended for a period of 10 days.

  5. What a crazy last few days. Easily this has been the wildest time in my life and hands down, the single craziest 24 hours in NBA history.   I just got out of a meeting after discussing steps forward for the league.  Currently everything is on the table, including a full cancelation of the season, after we had a second player test positive from the same team. We are expecting more to pop up over the next 5-10 days since there are nearly 50 individuals with direct contact/exposure to these two players. Currently it is not clear how the initial player contracted the virus and we are treating one player as a "patient zero" as opposed to the other. Everything is being monitored extremely close and we are sending all of the teams data and contact going forward to the proper authorities to use as a study of how things could possibly be transmitted in close contact.

There is a high up call with a CDC and another government official later. There will be questions about everything and I'm sure some interesting data or insight to relay.  I won't be directly in that call but I will get the rundown and bullet points and try to relay what I am allowed to.

I will say this though, there is a rumor going around of a national event ban for the United States. Some states have gotten out ahead of it, but the rumor is that a week from now, we will be looking at a national ban of events more than 500 people. This ban will be We have seen some states get ahead of this.  In my meeting this morning, as is now public, we learned of the MLB and NHL's plans to suspend play as well. The NCAA tournament will likely not continue as scheduled either.

Can you give us an idea of the numbers? I would suspect it's in the tens of thousands or more.

I shared some already in earlier pages, but we have been shown models by US government intelligence that were eye popping.  Conservative estimates are around 50 million infected in the US over the next 16 months, with around 100,000 dead. This will likely be the scenario.  The drastic model showed 100 million infected with nearly 500,000 dead (I think the actual number was around 460,000, but can't remember).

And I know most of you don't like to hear it, but it is the correct call not allowing people from Europe to travel to the US at this time. Nobody is prepared to handle this outbreak, It's not just the US.  The models the US government have show the danger and they are not taking it lightly, despite what the media might be saying.  Ive personally seen their data and had conversations with government officials.   Anything that can limit the transmission of the disease should be enacted at this time to try and contain what we can.

  7. I agree. He must have been warned privately.  I mean the numbers that are being shared with us at work don’t seem real and we are getting it from a government source.

Also, travel is suspended FROM Europe to the US, everywhere but the UK.  Exemptions will be made for US citizens with screening procedures.  So US citizens can travel to Europe, but coming back might be an issue with quarantine.   Europeans not from the UK will not be able to go to the US.

  8. Posted in the other thread, but I work for the NBA. Got some news today that all non-game events are to be canceled through the end of the season.    The league is still determining on whether to proceed without fans for the remainder of the regular season or to suspend all play indefinitely.  The call was pretty doom and gloom. Our government contact said that there will be a nationwide ban of large scale events soon. They have a model that shows upwards of 100 million Americans to contract the virus. Conservatively, 50 milllion is expected, with 100,000 dead.
edit: apologies for grammar I am on mobile.

let's hope so. This is starting to stress me out.

May I ask what your job is in the league?

I work with players/teams for community outreach and visibility. Basically if you see a player/team showing up somewhere that is not basketball related, Ive likely had a direct part in organizing and connecting those branches. I used to work at a prominent sports agency  so thats how I got the gig.

  10. Im honestly pretty confident that Glastonbury will be on the safe side of the quarantines that inevitably will happen over the next couple months.

The NBA will play games without fans in arenas soon. Today they limited locker room to restricted personnel.  I work for the league and we are having a huge call tomorrow and talk Wednesday about procedures going forward.

And not to stir up the pot any more than it needs to be, but I had a conversation with a high ranking US General and they estimate that China had 10s of millions infected before anything was ever reported. He said some internal data had it estimating as high as 50 million infected at the beginning of February.

I’d be absolutely thrilled if Cudi was there. I’m not sure he’s ever properly done a UK tour since he was supporting Kanye back in the MOTM days. I was lucky enough to see him there alongside Santigold, Mr Hudson and Consequence.

Sadly, I can’t ever see him play Glastonbury. He’s one of those rappers that seems far more interested in a US audience. I go to the US for work occasionally, so will put some effort in to lining up my dates with a show next time.

He is supposed to announce a tour along with an album this year.  Cudi has been so quiet on the tour front you never know.

I was lucky enough to see he and Kanye at their set for KSG at Flog Gnaw and saw Cudi play both weekends at Coachella last year. He was great.  He certainly can pull a one-off so he would be great for Glastonbury pre-album release.
