  1. http://www.alternativenation.net/pearl-jam-first-list-2020-tour-dates-leak/

Don't know how reliable the rumour is, but there's also a mention of a gig in July on the Imola racetrack in Italy and a few other cities in Europe. If they do have a tour to announce, holding back a Glastonbury announcement until 2020 makes sense...Glastonbury could have booked them some time ago on the back of the new album due 2020 spring and they just building a tour around it..

    Pearl Jam/McCartney/Taylor Swift

A huge cult rock band, a megastar oldie and one of the most relevant pop stars..two never played before and there's really something for everyone there (more than Kendrick/Macca/TS, I think TS and Kendrick are more for the same demographic than PJ)

  2. I pre ordered in September and today received the book from Waterstones..however it was delivered to France (where I live) and where my billing address is also.

The Waterstones ticket prize T&C does mention it quite clearly that entrants must have a valid British address, it also says that anyone who ordered the book before November is automatically entered into the prize draw..I'm confused, did I enter or not???

  3. Mary J Blige

    Wilko Johnson- Accoustic Stage

    Django Django- Williams Green

    Hot Chip

This made a perfect Friday...one into the other!

Patti Smith was just above anything I've seen during the weekend, it's unbelievable how she could transfer her amazing energy to every single person on that field...

And spending a sunny Sunday afternoon with Norman Jay at Heaven, instead of Lionel was the best decision we made....so he gets my +1

  4. Are there ever any decent subheadliner performances? I honestly can't think of any off the top of my head from recent years.

Nick Cave was good, I guess, but you'd struggle to call it a popular success.

    Really liked Faithless before Stevie....

  5. If they move the Paris gig a couple of hours earlier and say finish it by 8:30(7:30 UK time), would that be enough time to fly back with a helicopter?!

The article didn't say anything about cancelling, there are other ways to "rearrange" a gig...

  6. Fleetwood instead of orbison?? Dear God.

All the best moments on the Wilbury album are when the big o is singing - apart from tweeter and the monkeyman - and the second album is seriously lacking cos he is.

Can't really argue with that, but can't really bring Orbison back either....

The remaining members of the Wilburys with anyone who's big enough to step on stage with them would be great...all the talk about Macca and the Mac made me think why not them...why wouldn't they want to do it?!

Would also get around their exclusivity at other fests...

It's been said that Dylan doesn't do big open air stages anymore, but he wouldn't be on his own..

There's been talk of Lynne's return since that ELO gig in Hyde Park..

Tom Petty finished his own tour last December..

They are all available...just need good ol' Chris to talk them into it!

....and to promise not to come on stage or at least not with an instrument or a microphone...

  7. Dylan is in Europe and free on the Sunday...add Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty...have Macca and Mick Fleetwood to step in for Harrison and Orbison...that's the only supergroup I'd really like to see...a special form of the Traveling Wilburys!

Oh and Chris Martin can watch it from the side, it might opens his eyes to how music is actually done in the proper way...

  8. Not really seen anything since I was a yoof and The Shamen were around.

If I liked the Shamen then (Move Any Mountain is part of the soundtrack of my formative years!), would I like what he's done since/doing now...?

    Ben

His music is different as a DJ than The Shamen, but it never stopped evolving and it still holds a similar message...check or his Smell the coffee album and some of his DJ sets on soundcloud...

I could really see him Saturday afternoon on the Hell stage...it's that Up close with someone concept, where a legend plays for 5 hours and plays anything he likes...Norman Jay and Andy Cato from Groove Armada did it recently and it was both amazing...from soul to disco, from breaks to techno...a real journey guided by a real Dj!

  9. Haha I remember having an enlightening conversation with him many years ago during a night in Belfast that he headlined

He came to our flat for an afterparty couple of years ago...first he fixed our Technics in no time, played a bit, than chilled on our sofa while having many enlightening conversations with all the Freqs in the house....a legend, that's what he is!!!

  10. Mr C (The Shamen,The End, Superfreq) said on Facebook that it looks like he's gonna be there, but it's still not confirmed...

Been a regular at The End and at his Superfreq parties, but haven't seen him since I left London, so it would be amazing if he's there!

  11. Pretty sure the 'solo artist with a band' comment has been thrown out the window as of last night, where it's been said that they've had to sign a back up headlienr.

The `solo artist with a band` story started a week or so ago, and Neil had info that the final headliner was signed last week...not sure why can`t both be true...

  12. Err no .... This years risk is Kanye.

The risk being the size of the act, not how controversial he is...after all the anti-Kanye anger waves who could be more the opposite of him if not Beck?!

I know that not to many people thinks he could/should headline, but seen worse things talked about here before...

  13. What if Beck is the 'solo artist' with a band...someone who has got shows to sell first and the festival might even been after him for a while.

I know that the general consessus is, that he's only big enough to sub...but having two strong(ish) headliners already, could they take a bit of a risk with the third one?!

  14. if it's not Fleetwood Mac, and not Prince, then surely it HAS to be Blur. can't think of any other realistic possibilities that would fit in to all the criteria given - announce after both IOW (and possibly even BST) to ensure their ticket sales aren't affected

    Taylor...Macca...The Libs...Madonna?!

All have other shows this summer and could probably headline...

  15. Shangri La doing the countdown and then saying were put on hold....WH announcing that their line up is complete but nothing leaks...

I start to believe that the Eavii want to see how many people would pay the balance with only a few acts announced and with one of them quite controversial..

If they do have someone big lined up, even if half of the people would throw back their ticket in the pot, they announce the big one before resale and the festival will be sold out in a matter of hours...

And if most of the people would pay the balance even without the line up, just confirms that the majority still goes to Glastonbury because of Glastonbury and not because of a black rapper or some white guys with guitars..

  16. It wasn't on Just Be's page...he said it on his personal profile long time ago...I can't seem to find the post, but he said something like being very excited to be booked for Glastonbury 2015, after many years not being down at the farm...

  17. Where are Dylan's dates I cant find them? Missed out on his Blackpool dates a couple years ago

    http://www.songkick.com/artists/408511-bob-dylan/calendar

It does seem that he`s playing smaller more intimate venues, but if Glasto does want to get him, and he would want to play, the gap in his schedule makes it possible....one can dream I guess...and if not, I`ll be driving through Turin on the 2nd of July, so might as well stay for the night ;)
