For an event like this if 1 person is positive I can imagine a lot of people being notified due to no social distancing and being a small site but I think in an outside setting people are very unlikely to actually catch covid-19 from said person. It does make me wonder if the app will start to become a bit redundant at events like this with testing in place because otherwise so many people are going to be unnecessarily isolating.

Or you'll just get people deleting the app like I know a lot of people did.

Did I catch anyone one here?

That's shit that she got her head cut open by the thrown can, there's just no need.

There wasn't a single set we were standing in a similar place, who was your act of the weekend?

That DnB/Dub/Trap set was by far my favourite of the weekend at the silent disco 😂 it was a proper party atmosphere; everyone was losing their heads.

Fully agree with this and it was exactly what was needed after THAT Shikari set.

Anybody else feeling some serious post festival blues right now? What a top class weekend that was, Conjurer, Sleep Token, Creeper and Shikari were all the stand out acts but almost every band smashed it.

Yeah that's the part that makes it a test, to see how many positive people would attend in a real life situation and the impact on the other attendees this would have. If someone does go that is positive and it spreads (which is unlikely given the event is all outside) then all the people attending are doing is depriving themselves of festivals/gigs in the long run as that'll make it harder for them to open up.

The tests aren't of equal accuracy though.

    8. Press Club - they were excellent. They were so energetic (particularly the front woman, who is another star). The tent got fuller as the set went on which was great. They’re just an excellent little band with some great singalong tunes. I urge anyone who had any sort of interest in guitar music to check them out.

When she got into the crowd during the final bit of Suburbia and was moshing with everybody yet still managed to keep the singing spot on

Honestly can’t see a single person on site who isn’t suffering from the heat in one way or another. It’s ludicrous. As a staunch advocate of hot weather at festivals, I’m seriously considering changing my stance. Literally no respite from it this year - just a constant attempt at trying and failing to find shade.

The best festival weather is no rain, peaks of 20 degrees with a mild breeze and overcast conditions in the morning to the tent doesn't boil and you can get decent sleep. Hot festivals are grim (but preferred to rain) because it makes it much harder to enjoy bands and sleep is restricted.

He's 25 and headlined the Pyramid Stage, gotta say fair play to that. He was way better than Kanye was in the same spot.

The set did veer a little too political and cultural at times but I get it and he got it and he treated it like it was a big deal and I like when performers do that at Glastonbury. That it's not just another gig to them.

TBF most acts would be way better than that Kanye set.

I thought he was doing his verses from the song because they performed a version of it together at the Brits or similar wasn't it?

:dontknow: I duno I don't pay attention to awards shows as they're shit.

One date at Wembley doesn’t make them a sub. I think Zippo headliner would be perfect because they could have their full stage get up.

Didn't Nightwish sub after doing Wembley, or was Wembley after subbing?

  10. Rob Zombie had a bigger crowd than Halestorm just the day before too

I had an amazing time and all the bands killed it, highlights being Trivium, Jinjer, Lamb Of God, Kvelertak, Slipknot, Halestorm and of course Tool who made everybody else look like complete amateurs.

Fair fucks to the festival for the effort they made to keep the arena in a good condition btw, lots and lots and lots of straw spread out every day made things miles better. Shame the Village was un-rescuable

What's the nightlife like at Download?

Theres the pub that plays more classic rock/metal stuff, the doghouse that tries to play more contemporary stuff with themed club nights and then silent disco. All go on until 3.

The Courteeners would never be booked to play Download. However, they did sub TRNSMT last year. What's your point?

And BSC would never be booked to play RnL, so it goes back to you're nonsense point that 'Bands get bumped up more often at Download though. Case in point being last year's line up, BFMV and Black Stone Cherry were the two subs.' which is nonsense, if anything bands find it harder to rise up the bill at download than they do at RnL.

It's not bollocks. Download is a more niche festival than R&L, so bands tend to get higher slots there than they would at R&L. Case in point being the year both The Offspring and Lostprophets headlined. Neither BSC or BFMV would have subbed R&L in 2017.

But that doesn't mean that those bands weren't big enough to do sub slots. Also The Offspring and Lostprophets year was a year where they had headliners drop out just before the announcement. Likewise shit like The Courteeners wouldn't get the high slots they do at RnL at download, so fucking what?

This is bollox, BSC are a huge band in the metal scene having done multiple arena tours and BFMV have subbed twice before last year.
