where did that society fun lie poster come from? I literally can't find it anywhere else

I can't find them in the day by day on the Primavera website.

It'd be silly to fly all the way out on the premise of a potential Avalanches reunion.... But worth it if it came true!

  2. Good to hear everyone had a good time! :)

    Highlights for me:

-Finally getting to see OMD! They were quite good and the crowd seemed up for it.

-Spiritualized and Sunn O))) on Thursday! Agreed that Panda Bear was disappointing, but I loved the Arthur Russell Instrumental set.

-Pretty much all of Friday. Patti Smith was my favorite act of the festival, Sleater-Kinney sounded fantastic, finally got to hear Another Sunny Day before leaving Belle and Sebastian, late night/early morning Ratatat

-I'm a big fan so I quite liked The Strokes, but Caribou was the real winner of Saturday. Underworld sounded great and a fantastic DJ set from Daphni.

-And ending it all with SOAK and My Brightest Diamond and Jambinai and Thee Oh Sees at BARTS and Apollo!

  3. If you stand to the side you get a very distant view, but if you want to be right in the middle of the front section, then no. I was very near the front for The National last year and missed most of Pixies. You could probably catch half of S-K and Interpol before going in if you wanted to be in the front section.

On the Wednesday it's just the ATP stage open at the site - and it's open entry to anyone. I went down last year for Sky Ferreira and it was great just to get a feel of the place (and to sort out the wristband / card before the festival).

Can't believe it's less than 3 weeks away. I've managed to avoid most clashes - though that might be due to having fewer "must-see" acts than I could do. Only real one is Sleater-Kinney VS The Hotelier which I'll make my mind up at the time. Looking forward to seeing a lot of acts that I've not had the chance to before - Dan Deacon, Ought, Viet Cong, Run The Jewels, New Pornographers, Julie Ruin, and tUnE-yArDs - which I rarely seem to get elsewhere.

Thanks for the response! That's too bad, looks like I'll have to make more decisions than I originally thought.

Do the front/rail of main stages fill up quickly? The only acts I really need to up close for on the main stages are Ride and The Strokes.

  4. Is it easy to see the Primavera stage from the Heineken stage and vice-versa? I'm hoping to see Sleater-Kinney from afar while getting a good spot for Ride, same for Interpol while getting a spot for The Strokes.

Other than a few conflicts, I'm really liking the schedule.

  5. Do the first and second stage headliners ever conflict? This will be my first time out there, very excited! And, according to that same DiS interview:

The last time all four of us properly jammed together was for a project called 'Coming Up For Air' which was a tribute to Sonic Youth that went out on Channel 4 in the early 2000s. And now we're doing Primavera next year and they're thinking about it as well so it's kind of come round full circle. Thurston always seems to be around whenever Ride get back together!

So Thurston Moore band a possibility as well? They were great when I saw them earlier this year.

  6. The version of Empty Room they've been doing is great, starts off slow and really ramps up. Radio recording of their Kansas City show with probably the best setlist this tour:
